Shen Lin serves as the homeroom teacher of Plant Academy's Class A. He first becomes directly involved with Lin Mo after Zhou Hang's group moves to intercept him; Shen Lin rushes to the scene and uses his Soul King pressure to halt senior student Zhao Lei's bullying of freshmen. 21 22

He quickly recognizes Lin Mo's exceptional potential. After sensing that the nine-year-old has reached level 20 with a refined and stable foundation, Shen Lin personally advises him to prioritize a compatible thunder-attribute second soul ring. 24

Shen Lin arranges Plant Academy's application to Thunder Academy's exclusive Soul Hunting Forest and accompanies Lin Mo throughout the negotiations and trial. Although he initially believes Lin Mo has acquired an ordinary century-level ring, he is stunned when Lin Mo reveals a thousand-year second soul ring. 24 25 34 35

Following the assassination attempt at Plant Academy, Shen Lin acknowledges that the academy can no longer guarantee Lin Mo's safety. He is perceptive, pragmatic, and aware of the unequal power dynamics between academies. Before visiting Thunder Academy, he warns Lin Mo that Plant Academy's weaker position may invite disrespect, while still attempting to resolve matters through official channels. 24 25 26
