Background / History

Hinata first encountered Naruto after becoming lost while searching for her uncle Hizashi. Naruto escorted her back to the Hyuga compound, where she identified him to her father, Hiashi. Despite living in a luxurious home, she was lonely and quietly affected by Naruto's blunt reassurance that he also had no one beside him. 2

For the next two years, she secretly followed Naruto from afar. She was later bullied by children who called her Byakugan eyes “creepy” and treated her as a monster; Naruto intervened and stood between her and the bullies. 2

At the Ninja Academy, Hinata became Naruto's desk-mate. Initially shy and hesitant around him, she gradually grew more comfortable through their daily conversations, ramen outings, and walks home.
