Overview
The Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well is an ancient secret realm that has existed for at least twenty thousand years. It is a cultivation treasure land formed from the remains of the fallen Ice and Fire Dragon Kings, nurturing countless immortal herbs and spiritual medicines. Its central lake is split between extreme cold and extreme heat, sustaining a unique ecosystem of highly spiritual plants. 26 48 53
Before its relocation, the Tang Sect guarded the well and allowed selected outsiders to enter for opportunities to obtain compatible immortal herbs. 49 53 57
Appearance
Located in a hidden valley beyond a massive soul-guided alloy wall and the deadly Seven-Colored Poisonous Miasma, the well appears as a two-toned lake at the valley's center. 48
- One half of the water is ice-blue, clear as polar ice, and emits extreme cold.
- The other half is crimson, resembling molten lava and radiating scorching heat.
- The two waters meet at a sharply defined boundary while maintaining balance.
- Red-and-blue mist rises above the lake, creating seven-colored halos in sunlight.
- Its shores once contained innumerable exotic plants, immortal herbs, and spiritual medicines. 48 49
Properties
Extreme Ice and Fire Environment
The well's opposing ice and fire attributes create the special environment required by its resident immortal herbs.
- Its waters possess both bone-piercing cold and searing heat. 48 53
- The surrounding air is saturated with dense spiritual energy that refreshes and invigorates those within it. 49
- The site is regarded as a holy land capable of strengthening foundations, accelerating cultivation, and potentially triggering transformations in spirit masters of different levels. 26
Immortal-Herb Habitat
The well sustained countless spiritually aware immortal herbs, including seven particularly powerful herbs able to assume human form. 49
- The herbs had cultivated in the well for millennia and regarded human visitors with vigilance and disdain. 49
- They ordinarily selected a single compatible herb for each entrant rather than allowing forced harvesting. 49
- Their survival was symbiotically tied to the well; leaving its environment would expose them to heavenly tribulations and likely kill them. 51
- After relocation, the herbs found Luo Yang's small plane even more suitable than their original home. 52
Ice and Fire Dragon King Remnant Wills
The well retained the wills of the fallen Ice and Fire Dragon Kings.
- The immortal herbs could invoke the remnant wills as crimson and ice-blue dragon phantoms. 50
- The projections could borrow the well's power and were stated to rival a god-level powerhouse. 50
- The Plane Master's manifested will froze both dragon phantoms during Luo Yang's confrontation with the herbs. 50
History
The Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well existed as an ancient secret realm and cultivation treasure land guarded by the Tang Sect for countless years. Its rare herbs were periodically made available to chosen entrants, including as the prize for the Spirit Pagoda–Shrek Academy friendly match. 26 53 57
After Spirit Pagoda won the tournament, Luo Yang qualified to enter the well. Yuanen Yehui entered first and received the Ice Marrow Jade Bone Grass, a herb suited to her Titan Giant Ape martial soul. 45 49
When Luo Yang entered, seven high-level immortal herbs—led by Infernal Delicate Apricot—initially offered him a limited selection and demanded that he take only one. Luo Yang instead declared his intent to claim every immortal herb. 49 Bibi Dong and Ye Guyi intimidated the herbs with god-like auras, but the herbs answered by summoning the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings' remnant wills. The Plane Master's will then manifested through Luo Yang, suppressing the dragon phantoms and compelling the herbs to surrender. 50
With the Plane Master's approval, Luo Yang initiated a spatial overlap between the well and his small plane. The entire realm was detached from its original spatial coordinates and absorbed into the small plane, becoming the plane's first major evolution and expanding its area severalfold. 51 52
Luo Yang later showed the relocated well to Leng Yaozhu, explaining that he had moved it to prevent the immortal herbs from being misused. She warned him that discovery by the Tang Sect could make him a target across the continent. 53 Soon afterward, the Tang Sect discovered that the well was empty, issued a kill order against the thief, and investigated Luo Yang and Yuanen Yehui without finding evidence. 57
Known Residents
- Infernal Delicate Apricot — Leading fire-attributed immortal herb and one of the seven powerful herb incarnations; ultimately accepted Luo Yang as master. 49 52
- Six other high-level immortal herbs — Human-form immortal herbs who initially opposed Luo Yang, then relocated with the well into his small plane. 49 50 52
- Countless immortal herbs and spiritual medicines — Lesser plants transferred along with the well and its principal inhabitants. 50 52
- Ice and Fire Dragon King remnant wills — Residual wills embedded in the well, capable of manifesting as dragon projections. 50
Relationships
- Tang Sect — Former guardian of the well; treated it as a vital treasure and launched an investigation after its disappearance. 53 57
- Luo Yang — Removed the well into his small plane, becoming its effective owner and protector. 51 53
- Plane Master — Approved Luo Yang's spatial-overlap plan and suppressed the Ice and Fire Dragon King remnants during the takeover. 50 51
- Immortal herbs — Long-term inhabitants dependent on the well's environment; they relocated with it and accepted Luo Yang's protection. 51 52
- Leng Yaozhu — Entrusted with the secret after Luo Yang revealed the relocated well to her. 53
- Yuanen Yehui — Entered the well as a tournament reward and obtained Ice Marrow Jade Bone Grass. 49
Trivia
- Luo Yang publicly presented only an avatar of Infernal Delicate Apricot as his reward, concealing that the actual well and its inhabitants had been relocated. 52
- The Tang Sect's investigation identified Luo Yang and Yuanen Yehui as the only two recent Spirit Pagoda entrants, but its Soul Search Device detected no traces of additional immortal herbs on them. 57
