Background / History

Leng Yaozhu is the head of the declining Leng Family and Vice Tower Master of the Spirit Pagoda. Although she holds a prestigious office, much of her practical authority has been eroded as the Qiangu Family consolidates control over the organization and its resources. The Leng Family's position has further weakened because its main line lacks successors. 9

Her younger sister, Leng Yulai, fell onto the path of an Evil Soul Master, leaving Yaozhu with lasting regret and self-reproach. This experience shapes her refusal to condemn martial souls as inherently evil and later motivates her acceptance of Yuanen Yehui. 9 25

Yaozhu had secretly loved Yun Ming for many years, but he ultimately became Ya Li's husband. Her history with both of them contributes to her hostility and jealousy toward Ya Li. 39 47
