Despite accepting his commission, she privately despises his willingness to kill over jealousy and wounded pride 27.

Her intimidating reputation contrasts with her behavior when cornered. History

Assassination Contract

Na Nali meets Qiangu Zhangting in a detection-shielded chamber at the Spirit Pagoda headquarters. He hires her to kill Luo Yang without implicating him. She agrees to a price of 300 live soul beasts, treating Leng Yaozhu’s protection of the target as a significant risk 27.

Grey Rock Town Infiltration

At Grey Rock Town, Na Nali poses as a terrified girl threatened by an Evil Soul Master. After Luo Yang defeats the attacker and heals Yuanen Yehui, she begs to accompany them and introduces herself as Lina. Yuanen Yehui sympathizes with her, but Luo Yang detects flaws in her story and keeps her nearby to investigate her purpose 30 31.

The arrival of the Death Messenger exposes Luo Yang’s importance to the cult. Na Nali initially reacts with excitement to his summoning ability, then becomes terrified when he summons Ye Guyi. Under the Holy Angel’s scrutiny, she realizes that Luo Yang never believed her disguise and admits her real name 33 34 35.

Exposure and Surrender

After returning to the Spirit Pagoda, Na Nali is questioned in Leng Yaozhu’s isolated quarters. She admits that she is Dark Bell and reveals Qiangu Zhangting’s assassination commission. Offered a choice between death and service, she kneels, pledges loyalty to the Spirit Pagoda, and promises to obey Luo Yang 36 37.

During her surrender, she claims that the cult abducted her as a child and forced her into wrongdoing. The scene presents this as part of her self-serving appeal for mercy rather than an independently established account of her childhood 37.
