Background

Kakashi served as a white-haired Anbu under the Third Hokage. Though outwardly obedient, he began doubting Hiruzen Sarutobi’s claim that Danzō alone was responsible for Hatake Sakumo’s death 22. After Danzō’s defeat, Kakashi recovered a confidential file that exposed the truth behind his father’s suicide and the villagers’ treatment of him, leaving him angry and grief-stricken 64.

He retained Obito’s Sharingan as a memento and initially feared that Qingcheng intended to reclaim it. Qingcheng instead strengthened the eye with enhancement treatments, later revealing that Obito was alive and responsible for the Nine-Tails attack on Konoha and Minato Namikaze’s death 184 187.

Appearance

Kakashi has white hair and habitually conceals much of his face behind a mask. When he removes it, Konoha shinobi are struck by his appearance; he promptly puts it back on, insisting that he simply prefers breathing beneath it 300.

He is also easily overworked and reluctant to take on additional responsibilities. His growing authority gives him a more commanding presence, but he remains wary of Qingcheng’s injections, research, and aggressive training programs 195 412 449.

Away from formal duties, Kakashi is an avid reader of Icha Icha Paradise. His habit of reading it in public led to a fifty-million-ryō police fine, and he has repeatedly spent his savings on limited editions 105.
