Iburi Clan and Root Investigation

Kakashi leads Team 6's investigation into Orochimaru-linked child kidnappings. He and Yatsuhashi track the victims to the Iburi Clan, where Kakashi is initially incapacitated by Gota's Smoke Smothering Technique and subsequently adapts through Wind Release. 17 18

After Sano Yuji's betrayal and Tenzō's intervention, Kakashi pursues the escaping Root personnel while leaving Yatsuhashi to confront Tenzō. He later reports the surviving Hashirama Cell test subjects and Danzo's continuing project to Minato. 19 21

Escort of the Third Hokage

When the Lightning Style: Lightning Illusion Flash of Lightning formation threatens the area, Kakashi leads the effort to destroy a formation corner. He cuts a lightning bolt with Chidori, attempts to undermine Kitane's defenses with Earth Release, and ensures Kitane remains alive long enough to dispel the lingering lightning orb. 39 40

Mangekyo Research

Following the escort mission, Kakashi agrees to conceal Yatsuhashi's Mangekyo Sharingan awakening. Yatsuhashi then gives him detailed notes on Sharingan techniques, the Mangekyo Sharingan, and Susanoo after identifying a resonance between their eyes. 42

Madara's Infiltration
