Beerus is Universe 7's God of Destruction, a supreme deity paired with the Supreme Kai in overseeing the universe. Unlike Supreme Kais, he does not act according to conventional morality or routinely intervene to protect others; he destroys what he personally judges to have no value. His long life of overwhelming superiority left him bored enough to sleep for extended periods. 387 388 413 451

Whis trained Beerus and serves as his attendant, placing the Angel on a higher plane of power. Beerus acknowledges that he has never defeated Whis and is wary of powerful Angels such as Regus. 356 536

Raditz accidentally awakened Beerus while completing Whis's cleaning assignment in the God of Destruction's Realm.
