Background

Shen Yue died in an accident on Blue Star and was reincarnated into a military family in a mortal kingdom. As the family’s eldest son, he displayed exceptional martial talent, passed the martial examinations at seventeen, and ascended the Golden Throne. At twenty-three, his father supported Changqin Wuming’s faction during the struggle for the throne; a female cultivator suppressed the faction, exposing Shen Yue to the existence of cultivators. 1

After entering the cultivation world, Shen Yue spent two years at the Chen Clan’s Refining Lake, transporting and sorting dangerous refining scraps for minimal pay. The work continually worsened the fire poison in his body, threatening both his cultivation and lifespan. 1

While sorting scrap, he awakened the Nine Heavens Profound Mirror. Its first profound page recorded and permanently preserved his spell-cultivation progress, while its second page enabled travel to another world.
