A New Reincarnation Mission

Zhu Shen reviewed the reincarnation mission. The first mission had achieved several objectives:

That was why the cost had dropped so much.

Making powerful figures from the story into Reincarnators meant they could quickly complete difficult missions early on, but the drawback was the high recruitment cost.

Weak people, on the other hand, might lack strength at first, but recruiting them as Reincarnators cost fewer points.

The more Zhu Shen thought about it, the more he felt that one person alone couldn't consider every angle. And as the number of Reincarnators grew, he wouldn't be able to look after them all. So he opened the system and searched for a while.

There were three men and a woman. Based on their appearances and the information he knew, he silently tried to identify them.

The burly man with bronze skin and a wide belt, unconscious beside the bed, was Ay, the Fourth Raikage of Kumogakure, a village hostile to Konoha.

The man with a shark-like face, dressed in Anbu clothes and wearing a Kirigakure Forehead Protector, was probably an Anbu Ninja from Kirigakure.

Another man, wearing an Iwagakure Forehead Protector and sporting an ordinary, honest-looking face, was probably from Iwagakure.

As for the woman lying unconscious on another bed, Orochimaru knew her. She was Pakura, the Scorch Release kunoichi who had been very active during the Third Shinobi World War.

Orochimaru licked the corner of his mouth with a sinister smile. Which faction was behind this? Had they captured ninjas from all Five Great Shinobi Villages at once? He began to analyze the situation, and just then, the others started waking up one by one.

"Who's there? Who are you?" Blue light surged around the Fourth Raikage, his face tense.

Orochimaru curiously sensed his surroundings. Even he couldn't tell where the voice had come from. It was as if it had appeared out of thin air. Startled by the Fourth Raikage's outburst, the other three stopped "pretending to be asleep." They moved away from everyone and cautiously sized one another up.

Seeing this, Zhu Shen, who was secretly in control of everything, waved his hand and issued the mission.

"This doesn't look like the Ninja World," said Kitsuchi of Iwagakure. He had wanted to keep a low profile and wait for an opportunity to act, but what he'd just seen left him questioning everything.

Kisame Hoshigaki of Kirigakure had been watching outside the window for some time. "There's a large city outside. I've never seen this kind of architecture or these people before. And..." Kisame pointed to the faint barrier outside the window. "This thing, which looks like some kind of barrier, seems to be blocking their view."

"Could it be some kind of genjutsu?" asked Pakura, the Scorch Release kunoichi of Sunagakure, who had been listening quietly.

It was the secret technique passed down from one Raikage to the next in Kumogakure: Lightning Release Chakra Mode. It was like an ordinary person punching an unbreakable iron wall with all their might. He was sent flying backward, smashing through the house they were staying in before crashing to the ground.

The other four watched the Raikage's sorry state in silence, each weighing the situation in their minds.

"I'm furious!" Humiliated, the Raikage jumped up, ready to get even, but someone stopped him.

"That's enough, Raikage! It's obvious this barrier can't be broken. Whoever brought us here, and whether or not this place is the ridiculous other world it appears to be, we can only follow their instructions for now," Orochimaru said, stopping the Raikage from making another pointless move.

"I agree," Kitsuchi said at once. Pakura and Kisame Hoshigaki also clearly agreed with Orochimaru.

Raikage Ay looked around. As an experienced Kage-level fighter, Orochimaru didn't frighten him, but starting a fight blindly in an unfamiliar place wouldn't be wise. He'd also tested the others by playing dumb earlier and learned that they genuinely seemed to know nothing about their current predicament. So he accepted the opening Orochimaru had given him and backed down.

Orochimaru began analyzing the mission. "The target is obviously Donquixote Doflamingo. The goal is to stop him from becoming king. There are many ways to do that, and the most direct would be to kill him. But the person who created this mission didn't assign us to kill him. Instead, they gave us a mission to kill his subordinates. That probably means the person behind this believes we can't kill the target with our current strength, so they've changed the objective to stopping his plan."

Excitement glinted in Orochimaru's snake-like eyes. Zhu Shen saw it all and couldn't help but praise him. No wonder he was the only person in the Ninja World who believed in science. He was one of the people Zhu Shen had had his eye on as a potential tool for a long time.

But no one else in the room agreed with her, not even the Raikage, whom she'd thought most likely to do so. After all, would someone who had become the Kage of a village really be thoughtless?

"The mission doesn't set a time limit. But if this Doflamingo succeeds in his plan to seize the throne, we'll definitely fail. I think we should gather information first, then decide on our next move." The Raikage tried to take charge without making it obvious.

After some discussion, they decided to split into two groups. The Raikage, Pakura, and Kitsuchi would investigate the situation of Dressrosa's original royal family, while Orochimaru and Kisame Hoshigaki of Kirigakure would look into the Donquixote Family. They would then meet up, exchange information, and decide what to do next.
