Background / History

Kizaru initially served the Navy as an Admiral candidate and was assessed as a Tier 3 Intermediate combatant. During the attempt to arrest Arlong, he became the target of Minato Namikaze’s hidden mission, which offered rewards for either killing him or persuading him to leave the Navy. 2

Minato’s surprise attacks revealed the difficulty of fighting Kizaru’s Logia body, light-speed movement, and Haki. Although Minato injured him with Sage Art Rasengan and escaped with Arlong’s corpse, Kizaru survived the encounter and personally concluded that Minato possessed space-time movement. 3 4

By the time of his later service as an Admiral, Kizaru had become a Reincarnator and regularly participated in Main God Space missions. He initially treated this status with his usual detachment, but repeated battles and the growth of Garp and Aokiji pushed him to pursue the power of light more seriously. 117 211 217

He refused hidden Main God missions requiring him to kill Sengoku or Garp, betray the Marines, or join pirates, even when those tasks offered major rewards. 150 He also chose the Light Faction in the Ultraman World because joining a mission to destroy humanity would conflict with his justice. 212

When allies or civilians are in danger, Kizaru becomes notably direct and serious. He saved Akainu from Madara’s Flame Formation, lured Golza away from Akita City to enable civilian evacuation, and risked his life to redirect the falling moon. 148 213 308

Battle Against Madara and Blackbeard

During the large-scale Marine conflict, Kizaru stopped slacking off to rescue Akainu and hold Madara Uchiha at bay.
