Shimura Danzō certainly knew that once he left the village, he would be in danger.

But there were some things you could not avoid simply by hiding.

How could he possibly succeed in becoming Konoha's Hokage if he was unwilling to take even the slightest risk?

The last time, Shimura Danzō had left the village over a similar matter and had nearly been killed by Mizuki.

Although Mizuki had worn a mask and never admitted to doing it, everyone knew the truth.

Now, Shimura Danzō was confident that when he left the village, Mizuki would not hunt him down like last time.

When one person wanted to kill another, it was never so easy to make that decision.

More often than not, circumstances forced their hand.

For the current Mizuki, there was absolutely no need to kill Shimura Danzō, who was basically incapable of posing much of a threat to him. The effort required was completely disproportionate to the reward.

This was entirely different from bloodshed between two hostile organizations.

Those in high positions of power would not casually take personal action against comrades within the same organization, either.

As for Sasuke Uchiha, whose recent restless movements had been mentioned in much of the intelligence, Shimura Danzō was still somewhat confident he could handle him.

It would have been one thing if Sasuke had not come, but if he truly dared to make a move, that was exactly what Danzō wanted.

Taking the opportunity to kill someone hostile toward Konoha suited Shimura Danzō's wishes even better.

Not far from where Mizuki had ambushed Shimura Danzō last time, all traces of the battle from three years ago had long since vanished without a trace.
