Alternate-world counterpart

In the world reached through the strange space at Penguin Village, Tien Shinhan serves as a general of the Red Ribbon Army. After a tailed monster devastates cities and defeats humanity's conventional military, the Red Ribbon Army becomes humanity's primary defense. Tien and Krillin fight within its ranks against the threat. 25

Tien initially treats Zhang Wutian as a possible enemy and refuses to trust his claims of coming from another world. His hostility softens only after Zhang departs through the dimensional passage, proving that another world exists. 25 When Zhang returns with Son Wukong and the Dragon Balls, Tien objects to bringing a girl who resembles the destructive monster into his world, fearing panic and further casualties. 27

Having lost his master and fellow disciples to the monster, Tien drives himself relentlessly during training under Mr. Popo. He uses Senzu Beans to continue pushing past physical collapse, anxious that Zhang Wutian and Son Wukong's explosive growth will leave him behind. 28 29
