Vegeta's Sacrificial Burst

That Senzu Bean was special, and Beerus naturally knew it could restore someone's stamina instantly. After eating one, you wouldn't need to eat for ten days. They were food for the gods, but he hadn't expected Lei Chen to have one on him, too.

"You're cheating!"

Beerus couldn't help shouting. He'd finally been about to defeat Lei Chen, but then Lei Chen ate a Senzu Bean and recovered in an instant.

"That's right, I'm cheating. But you're using your strength to bully someone weaker than you. You're stronger than me, so isn't that a little unfair? So we're even."

"I've still got plenty of Senzu Beans. Do you want to keep fighting? Otherwise, we can call it a draw."

Lei Chen couldn't help laughing as he spoke.

"A draw?"

Just as Beerus was about to fly into a rage, he refused to settle for a draw after they'd already fought this far.

Suddenly, Beerus noticed Whis in the distance, watching the fight while enjoying the food. A fragrance unlike anything he'd ever smelled before wafted into his nose.

At that moment, Beerus no longer wanted to fight Lei Chen.

"I'm done fighting. But you cheated, so it's not a draw. I win!"

With that, before Lei Chen could get a word in, Beerus flew toward Whis, moving even faster than he had during his fight with Lei Chen.

"It looks like Beerus was still holding back quite a bit of his strength!"

Lei Chen was secretly startled. He'd been planning to use Senzu Beans to drag the fight out and wear Beerus down, but he hadn't expected Beerus to give up because he caught the scent of delicious food.

But that suited Lei Chen just fine. Otherwise, he had no idea how strong Beerus would be if he forced him to use his full power—or whether he could withstand Beerus by eating Senzu Beans.

Half an hour later.

At Bulma's arrangement, Whis and Beerus had eaten their fill. Carrying several packages of food, they prepared to return to the World of the God of Destruction.

"Lei Chen, I hope that when we meet again, our fight won't go like it did today."

Beerus spoke calmly to Lei Chen.

"Don't worry. I definitely won't disappoint you. In fact, I might even surprise you."

Lei Chen smiled. Through his fight with Beerus, the God of Destruction, he had gained insight into Destruction Divine Power.

Or, more accurately, he had gained insight into the rules of destruction. Lei Chen still couldn't wield Destruction Energy, but he now understood some of the theory behind the rules of destruction.

But theory was one thing; putting it into practice would still take time. It was like getting a driver's license. By the time you took the road test, you knew how to drive and understood all the rules. But actually putting them into practice wasn't so simple. You might know the route by heart, yet have never driven it yourself. When the test began, you'd be completely at a loss. You understood the theory, but practical experience was worlds apart. That was Lei Chen's situation now.

"Is that so? Then this God is looking forward to it."

Beerus sounded intrigued.

With that, he and Whis immediately turned into streaks of light and shot into the sky, vanishing from sight.

Only after Whis and Beerus had disappeared did everyone turn their attention to Lei Chen.

Vegeta in particular stepped forward and walked right up to Lei Chen. Facing him head-on, he said, "Lei Chen, fight me. Whether you transform into a Super Saiyan God or the Super Saiyan Blue form of a Super Saiyan God, I, Vegeta, will defeat you."

"Is that so?"

Lei Chen looked at Vegeta with an amused expression. Vegeta knew he was weaker, yet still challenged him. It wasn't because Vegeta enjoyed getting beaten up; he wanted to experience the power of a Super Saiyan God.

Vegeta's strength was still some way from the threshold for transforming into a Super Saiyan God. But if he got to experience that power, perhaps after some more training, he really could become a Super Saiyan God.

A red glow appeared around Lei Chen. His crimson aura swayed gracefully, filled with a sense of divinity. A thin red haze drifted like a ghostly flame, flecked with streaks of color. His hair and eyes turned red, and his body grew slimmer.

An invisible divine pressure bore down on Vegeta. As he felt an oppressive force he couldn't resist, he realized he couldn't even move. If he tried to attack by force, he felt he would be instantly killed.

The thought of not daring to fight crept into Vegeta's mind.

"Damn it, why is the gap so huge?"

"No, I can't let this go on. Otherwise, I'm afraid I really won't dare to fight."

Vegeta gritted his teeth, his eyes fixed on Lei Chen.

As a Super Saiyan God, Lei Chen's battle power reached 240 trillion. Vegeta hadn't transformed yet, and his battle power was still below one trillion.

"Ahhh!"

A dazzling golden light burst from Vegeta as he roared at the top of his lungs. His neck muscles bulged, golden lightning crackled around him, and even the sky changed color as lightning flashed overhead.

Vegeta's hair stood up even higher and grew thicker than before. Arcs of electricity crackled around him, and his face was taut and cold. His battle power reached five trillion.

But before the divine pressure radiating from Lei Chen, he was still like an elephant facing an ant.

Bang!

Suddenly, Vegeta became a golden blur and charged at Lei Chen, throwing one fierce punch after another. But not a single attack hit Lei Chen.

Boom!

Vegeta's entire body suddenly shot backward. As he streaked across the sky, a trail of blood and a series of sonic booms followed him.

Lei Chen stood in the sky with one finger extended. He had just tapped Vegeta on the forehead with it, sending him flying in an instant.

Vegeta slowly rose from his crouch on the ground. The aura radiating from him grew stronger and stronger.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with his left hand and stared expressionlessly at Lei Chen. He wasn't the least bit angry that Lei Chen had hurt him with a single finger.

Vegeta's body slowly rose from the ground, then floated toward Lei Chen before finally descending to the ground.

The aura around Vegeta grew stronger and stronger. His battle power had now surpassed two trillion, exceeding Son Goku's Super Saiyan 3 battle power.

Vegeta raised his right arm and pointed his palm at Lei Chen. A terrifying aura radiated from him as unimaginable energy gathered throughout his body. His expression remained calm and emotionless as he stared at Lei Chen.

"What... what is this? Has Vegeta gone crazy? This is just a normal fight. Is he trying to die along with Lei Chen?"
