Beerus Awakens

Led by Piccolo, Soya and the others entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

"So this is the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?"

Looking at the vast, white world surrounding him, Soya spoke slowly.

He could clearly sense how different this place was from the outside world.

"The flow of time in here is different from the outside. One day on the outside is equivalent to a full year in here. It's a great place for training, though it can be a bit stifling and boring," Son Goku explained, standing beside Soya.

Soya nodded.

"Alright, you all go ahead and start your training. I need to find a spot to begin my own."

As soon as Soya finished speaking, he flashed away, darting into the distance with such speed that he vanished in an instant.

While Soya and the others entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, in the God of Destruction Realm—one of the two sacred sites of Universe 7—Beerus, who had been fast asleep, slowly opened his eyes.

It was clear, however, that he hadn't slept enough. His yawn stretched so wide it nearly reached his ears.

"Haaah."

After stretching and yawning, Beerus glanced around.

"Strange, why did I wake up so early this time?" Beerus muttered, feeling somewhat helpless.

"Whis, where are you?"

Not seeing Whis after waking up, Beerus called out. For him, the most important thing after waking from a nap was finding something to eat.

"Lord Beerus, I thought you would sleep for a few more decades. I didn't expect you to wake up so early this time," Whis said, walking over from the distance with his staff in hand. He smiled gently, his voice amiable.

"I don't know what happened. I think I had a dream—I dreamt of someone, and he seemed to be my rival!" Beerus said, still groggy and looking puzzled.

He knew better than anyone how many years it had been since he encountered a worthy opponent in Universe 7. Any enemy before him couldn't even withstand a single blow.

"Impossible. Is there really someone in this world who could be your rival? Does such a person even exist?" Whis chuckled, assuming Beerus was just joking.

"Whis, is my bathwater ready?" Beerus asked while eating.

"It is prepared, and the water temperature is just right." It had to be said that Whis's service was impeccable; he had even anticipated this and made the necessary preparations.

A day passed slowly.

Having just woken up, Beerus had no intention of destroying any planets. After all, destruction was merely his job description. At his core, he was a person who loved peace and fine food. Besides, even work required moments of leisure. In his view, nothing was more pleasurable than simply enjoying life.

"Lord Beerus, it's about time to get to work. Although your nap wasn't very long this time, there is quite a lot to be done," Whis said with a smirk.

Beerus remained silent. He pretended not to hear Whis, having no intention of responding; he hadn't rested enough yet.

Closing his eyes again, Beerus felt quite relaxed. In this state of ease, some memories of his dream began to surface.

"I think I remember!" Beerus suddenly opened his eyes and spoke.

"What is it?" Whis paused, looking at Beerus.

Beerus really wasn't listening to him at all; after all, that was just Lord Beerus's personality, and most of the time, he was just playing the lute to a cow.

"Whis, I felt a power emerge before I woke up."

"I don't know whose power it was, but I do know that it was very similar to the person in my dream."

"Help me find him. This person is my rival, someone capable of fighting me."

A sharp glint flashed in Beerus's eyes as he muttered, still savoring the memory of his dream.

"No problem. What is his name?"

Whis nodded; after all, he too had sensed a sudden burst of energy earlier, though he hadn't paid it much mind.

"What was it again?" Beerus suddenly hesitated.

He rubbed his chin, as if deep in thought.

"It was called... Super... Super what was it? I've forgotten."

Beerus thought for a moment, but he simply couldn't recall the name of the rival he had fought in his dream.

"Lord Beerus, if you can't even tell me a name, how am I supposed to find him?"

Whis was somewhat speechless.

"Let me think hard... it seems to be called..."

Beerus pondered for a long time, but suddenly his eyes lit up, and he immediately spoke to Whis.

"I remember now! It seems to be called the Super Saiyan God!"

Beerus had finally remembered.

"Super Saiyan God?"

Whis immediately began his search, but after a long while, he found no results; there was no such person as the so-called Super Saiyan God.

"Lord Beerus, I haven't found anyone called the Super Saiyan God."

"Besides, before you went to sleep, didn't you have Frieza destroy the Saiyan planet?"

"The Saiyans are practically extinct now, and even if there are a few stragglers left, they are scattered."

"Most of the remaining Saiyans are on Earth. Their Saiyan Prince, Vegeta, and Son Goku, who killed Frieza, are both there."

Whis spoke slowly, organizing the information, but he still couldn't find anything regarding a Super Saiyan God, only the Saiyans themselves.

"What? He killed Frieza!"

Beerus was greatly astonished, immediately rising to his feet to stare at Whis in shock.

"That is correct."

Whis waved his right hand, and a beam of light flew from his Angel Staff, forming a screen that appeared before Beerus.

The scene showed the battle on Namek, where Son Goku had tried everything in his power but could not defeat Frieza.

It captured the moment when, after Krillin was killed, he relied on unprecedented rage to transform into a Super Saiyan and subsequently killed Frieza.

"Do all Saiyans have hair like that?"

Son Goku's hair caught Beerus's attention, and he asked in confusion.

"No, Saiyan hair is usually black. It only turns gold after transforming into a Super Saiyan," Whis explained with a smile.

"Super Saiyan? Why isn't it Super Saiyan God?"

Beerus was puzzled; the one he was looking for was the Super Saiyan God, not an ordinary Super Saiyan.

"Never mind. Since he is on Earth and is a Super Saiyan, he should surely know something about the Super Saiyan God."

Beerus wiped himself off.

"It will take twenty-four minutes and fifteen seconds to get from here to Earth. Lord Beerus, are you really going?"

Whis looked at Beerus.
