After getting the news, everyone hurried straight to Capsule Corp.

After picking up Bulma, they headed to the spot at the foot of the mountain where the Time Machine was.

Trunks saw the dusty Time Machine and took out his own, placing it beside the other one.

"Wow, they really are exactly the same!"

Krillin exclaimed as he looked at the identical spaceship in front of him.

"W-what's going on?"

Trunks was baffled.

There was only one Time Machine in the future. How could there be another one?

And judging by its appearance, it had been sitting here for a long time.

The questions in Trunks's mind piled up. He jumped straight into the Time Machine to check its travel records.

"This..."

Trunks's eyes suddenly widened.

He hadn't noticed before, but this Time Machine had arrived four years earlier than the one he'd traveled in.

While everyone was still trying to make sense of it, Krillin suddenly spotted the shell of a mysterious creature nearby.

The discovery gave everyone a terrible shock.

"It looks like history really has been turned upside down," Trunks muttered to himself.

He knew that even if they destroyed the Androids in this timeline, the future wouldn't change.

But he had still made the journey back without hesitation.

He'd done it entirely to carry out Bulma's wishes in the future.

While everyone was still examining the shell, a small TV inside the aircraft suddenly came on, broadcasting an urgent news report.

"According to reports, the residents of a small town have suddenly disappeared. The details are still under investigation!"

"We urge all citizens to limit their time outdoors for the time being, to avoid putting yourselves in danger!"

After the report, the TV showed footage from the scene.

Not a single person remained in the town. Only piles of clothes were scattered across the ground.

Where the people had gone was still unknown.

As everyone focused on the news, a terrifying surge of energy suddenly swept across the sky.

Li Lin looked up and murmured, "Looks like Piccolo's finished assimilating."

"Li Lin, what should we do now?" Krillin asked.

They had no leads, so they could only follow the instructions of the strongest person present: Li Lin.

Li Lin rubbed his chin and said slowly, "Those people's disappearance must have something to do with that monster who came here from the future!"

Everyone nodded. Even without Li Lin saying so, they could pretty much guess as much.

"Besides, since this monster came here from the future, he hasn't reached his full strength yet."

"So go check out Dr. Gero's lab. You might find some clues!"

"If you find him, kill him on the spot!"

Li Lin calmly assigned everyone their tasks.

Then he continued, "I'll look for the monster. If I find him, I'll finish him off myself!"

Everyone exchanged glances and agreed with Li Lin's plan.

They split up, and Bulma flew the aircraft back by herself.

Li Lin began searching aimlessly through the sky.

Since Cell possessed the combined power of nearly every strong fighter on Earth, he was also highly skilled at controlling his ki.

So as long as he hid his energy and didn't want to be found, no one would be able to detect him.

After fusing with Kami, Piccolo's strength had soared. For the moment, he was even a match for the Androids.

Through Kami's memories, he had learned of Cell's existence.

He now knew where Cell was hiding, and was heading there to destroy the monster!

Li Lin continued wandering through the sky. He knew Piccolo would soon fight Cell.

Even if he searched seriously right now, it would probably be a waste of time.

Li Lin sensed it briefly. One of the immensely powerful energies belonged to Piccolo.

If nothing unexpected had happened, this person had to be Cell from the future.

Meanwhile, when Krillin, Trunks, and the others reached Dr. Gero's laboratory, they found a mysterious incubation chamber underground, just as expected.

"Looks like Li Lin was right. This really is where the monster's embryo was kept!"

Trunks clenched his fist and said gravely.

As he spoke, he fired a Ki Blast at the chamber, shattering it, then followed up with another blast.

The embryo dissolved into dust in the ki wave!

"Let's go. There shouldn't be anything else here. That energy we sensed just now was probably Piccolo's. He must have run into that monster!" Tien Shinhan suggested.

No one said anything more. They flew off at top speed in the direction of the energy.

Li Lin also sped toward the battlefield. On the way, he happened to meet up with the others, whom he'd parted from not long ago.

They told Li Lin the secret they'd uncovered at Dr. Gero's laboratory and praised his judgment.

After regrouping, they flew on without stopping.

Just as they were about to reach their destination, the energy from the battle suddenly vanished.

Only Piccolo's energy remained.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"

One figure after another descended from the sky and landed beside Piccolo.

"Damn it, he got away!"

Piccolo said, frustrated.

"It's fine. We can take him down next time," Li Lin said calmly, looking completely at ease.

He seemed like nothing could surprise him.

Piccolo nodded. His strength had increased greatly, and he no longer feared anyone on Earth.

He also told everyone what he'd managed to learn from Cell.

That was how they learned that the monster who had traveled from the future was named Cell.

"We definitely won't find Cell anytime soon. From what Piccolo said, that guy will go after the Androids and absorb them," Li Lin said.

"Our best option now is to find the Androids first. If we protect them—or just kill them outright—that monster won't amount to much!" Piccolo declared boldly.

Li Lin glanced at him, unconvinced by his suggestion.

After all, his wife was one of them. If they killed the Androids, what was he supposed to do? So he said, "So what if he absorbs the Androids? We can just take him down afterward!"

Everyone stared at him, stunned. Good grief, he was clearly the strongest one here now.
