The Death of Yakon

Yakon grinned cunningly. "So that's how it is. Darkness doesn't affect you, does it?"

"What, you still want to try some tricks?" Vegeta laughed confidently.

"Ah~~."

Yakon opened his massive maw toward Vegeta, and a stench like a century-old unwashed latrine hit them head-on.

Damn it, how long has this idiot gone without brushing his teeth? The Saiyans covered their noses tightly. This reminded Son Goku of the barbarian he encountered at his first World Martial Arts Tournament who had never bathed once in his life; a nose as sensitive as a dog's was a curse.

"Hah, hah, hah."

A powerful suction force erupted from Yakon's mouth. The Super Saiyan glow surrounding Vegeta was forcibly ripped away by this pull, and Yakon swallowed it like food, plunging the world back into darkness.

"What's going on?"

"Why is it dark again?"

Son Gohan and Trunks shouted in alarm. Son Goten, already aware of everything, said nothing and made no move.

"Vegeta has reverted from his Super Saiyan state," Son Goku said calmly.

"That's right, Yakon can consume light as food. The light from Vegeta's Super Saiyan transformation is the finest meal for him," the Supreme Kai explained.

"Hiccup."

Yakon let out a satisfied burp, his face full of contentment. "The taste is just right. This is the first time I've eaten such delicious light."

Vegeta calmed down from his initial shock, a mocking smirk curling his lips. "Don't worry, you won't be eating it again."

"Nani?"

As Yakon stood in astonishment, Vegeta opened his palm, fingers pressed together, and aimed at him. "Big Bang Attack."

A deep blue energy sphere shot from Vegeta's palm, streaking toward Yakon. The human-sized orb slammed into his body.

"BOOM."

A thunderous, earth-shaking roar echoed through the realm, lingering for a long time.

Vegeta's attack left not even a scrap of flesh behind, obliterating Yakon down to the atom.

The difference between Vegeta and Son Goku is that against a trash opponent, Vegeta chooses to annihilate them instantly, whereas Son Goku releases his energy bit by bit. Vegeta mentioned this in Dragon Ball Super, and it is indeed a flaw of Son Goku's.

Take Yakon, for example: Vegeta killed him in one strike, while Son Goku would have transformed into a Super Saiyan to let Yakon gorge on his energy until he exploded.

"Gaga-ga," the passage to the next level opened.

Control Room.

"Yakon... is... dead," Babidi stammered, watching in horror as Yakon was blasted into dust by Vegeta.

Dabura looked resolute. "I understand, Lord Babidi. Allow me to eliminate your unease."

"I shall guard the third stage myself."

"Dabura, if even you..." Babidi looked at Dabura with a gaze so affectionate it made me want to retch.

"I am the King of the Demon Realm. No one in this world is stronger than me," Dabura said confidently. "Lord Babidi, I must borrow your Meditation Room."

What the hell? If you're so damn strong, go out there and fight them! Why run to the Meditation Room? To pet a cat? And if you're the strongest, why does Babidi even need to resurrect that uncontrollable factor, Majin Buu?

Third Level.

"Gohan, you're up next. Have you been training seriously?" Son Goku asked, looking at Son Gohan as he prepared to step forward.

Vegeta curled his lip. "A pity. He's neglected his training all these years; we're all stronger than him now."

Son Gohan scratched his head awkwardly. Despite training earnestly after the Broly incident, his strength hadn't fully recovered. At present, he could barely manage a Super Saiyan 2 transformation.

"Dad, do you remember Broly?" Son Gohan asked, his expression turning serious.

Son Goku's brow furrowed. "I remember. Why? Don't tell me Broly didn't die?"

"Yeah," Son Gohan nodded solemnly. "Not only did he survive, but he appeared on Earth not long ago."

"Nani?" Son Goku was shocked. He had experienced firsthand what that madman Broly was like when he went berserk. He asked nervously, "And now?"

"Goten and I defeated him," Son Gohan said, casting a faint smile toward Son Goten. "Though Goten is truly amazing. He was able to fight Broly the moment he surpassed the Super Saiyan limit."

"So, the Super Saiyan 2 you used at the tournament was also unlocked while fighting that weird uncle?" Trunks pressed.

"Uh, yeah. You had already passed out by then, Trunks!" Son Goten said, scratching his head.

"Truly impressive," Son Goku remarked, which left Vegeta feeling quite annoyed.

Son Goku stared at Son Goten with eyes gleaming. "Goten, want to spar with Dad?"

Son Goten's mouth twitched violently. As expected of a battle maniac; he won't even spare his own son. However, Son Goku was currently so carefree only because he hadn't yet witnessed the power of Majin Buu, allowing his goofy side to take over.

Son Goku is usually very serious in front of a real enemy, but right now, he viewed Dabura as nothing more than a hurdle that a Super Saiyan 2 could handle, and he likely felt the same about Majin Buu—hence, the idiocy.
