"Haa, haa, there really are a lot of people," Son Goten muttered, looking at the endless sea of heads in the plaza with a bored expression.

The World Martial Arts Tournament, a gathering of the world's greatest fighters. Son Goten looked at the tournament participants with a sense of pity; it was truly tragic to be born in this era. Saiyans, Namekians, and overpowered aliens were a dime a dozen, and the strongest the Earthlings had to offer was barely Krillin.

"Why hasn't Goku shown up yet? If he doesn't come soon, registration will close," Bulma complained, checking her watch.

"Whoosh."

Just as everyone was looking around for Son Goku, a sound of air being torn apart rang out. The group turned their heads to see a tall, familiar figure appearing out of thin air.

"Yo."

Son Goku appeared as if he had teleported, waving a greeting to everyone.

"Long time no see, everyone," Son Goku said with a wide, grinning smile.

"Goku!" they all shouted in unison.

Son Gohan and Chi-Chi, overcome with emotion at Son Goku's arrival, threw themselves into his arms. Son Goten carefully studied the man who looked exactly like him. Finally, I get to see you—the protagonist of this world, Son Goku.

Son Goten mumbled to himself, but his voice was too soft, and with everyone's attention fixed on Son Goku, no one noticed the strange glint in his eyes.

Standing over six feet tall, with the same crab-like hair as Son Goten, he wore a blue short-sleeved shirt under his orange martial arts gi. His handsome face maintained a refreshing, breezy smile that made it impossible to feel any dislike for him at first glance.

The only difference was the golden halo floating above Son Goku's head, signifying that he was currently deceased.

"Goten, come and meet your father," Chi-Chi said, patting Son Goten on the back when she noticed he was still dazed.

"I was so curious about this kid looking just like me; turns out he really is my son."

"Hahaha."

Everyone laughed at Son Goku's sudden goofy remark, with the exceptions of the stone-faced Vegeta and Piccolo.

"Dad."

Son Goten walked up to Son Goku, stared at him for a moment, and a faint smile appeared on his young face.

"Wow, it's the world champion, Mr. Satan!" Just as Son Goku was about to speak, a scream rang out. Suddenly, the crowd erupted, pushing past Son Goku's group and surging toward the tournament entrance.

A middle-aged man with a gold belt around his waist and a white cape draped over his shoulders—looking rather disheveled—was surrounded by the crowd. It was the "World's Savior," Mr. Satan.

Heh, the world's savior, huh? Son Goten watched Satan basking in the crowd's adoration with a cold glint in his eyes, though no one noticed.

"Let's go, let's head to the venue," Piccolo said.

"Alright."

The group participating in the tournament walked into the venue. Son Goku, Son Goten, Great Saiyaman (Son Gohan), Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Android 18, and Trunks basically made up half of the top sixteen. What annoyed the two brats, Son Goten and Trunks, was that there was a junior division—it was absolutely ridiculous.

"But Krillin, I didn't expect you to have hair," Son Goku said, looking at the formerly bald Krillin's head.

"I told you I had hair! There's a reason I'm growing it out now," Krillin retorted.

"Eh, is that so?" Son Goku said, looking surprised. A beautiful figure walked past him, and Son Goku subconsciously glanced over, startled again. "Android 18? Aren't you Android 18?"

"You're only noticing now? Baka," Android 18 turned her head, looking at him with disdain.

"Why is Android 18 here?"

"Baka."

Android 18 gave Son Goku another look of contempt and kept walking. Krillin said with a slightly red face, "I married Android 18. We live at Master Roshi's place, and we've even had a daughter."

"Isn't she a robot? How can she have a child?" Son Goku asked, looking like he was saying, "I may not be well-read, but you can't fool me."

"Android 18 was a human once, too. She was just modified by Dr. Gero," Krillin countered.

The punch machine was used to test a person's power level—only for ordinary people, of course.

"Oh, oh! 137! Mr. Satan hit 137! That's the highest score we've seen so far!"

The chubby host looked at the number on the machine with excitement. Satan struck a few flamboyant poses, giving Son Goten a sense of déjà vu. Damn, no wonder my brother is such a show-off; it all comes from you, Satan.

Son Goten's gaze toward Satan grew even more hostile.

I have to crush him. Absolutely crush him.

I'll make sure he can't even take care of himself. Definitely.

After a chaotic scene, Son Goku and the others all hit scores around 200, leading the idiot host to believe the machine was broken. In the end, Vegeta, with his short temper, punched the machine and shattered it, stunning Videl, who had come over out of curiosity.

Uncle Vegeta, nice work, Son Goten thought, cheering him on. That's the way to do it. Let these foolish Earthlings see what real power looks like.

I'm so screwed, Son Gohan thought, crying internally. Uncle Vegeta, couldn't you have waited until I finished before breaking it? His easy qualifying round was now going to take much more time.
