Kangetsu built the Crimson Country, captured the Nine-Tails, and gained new power while his forces manipulated rival clans. As hundreds of clans prepared to fight the Uzumaki, Kangetsu positioned Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara against each other.

Arc 5The Uchiha Clan Splits

Kangetsu defeated the Hagoromo forces and consolidated power while maneuvering among the Uchiha, Hyuga, and Uzumaki clans. He broke with Uchiha Tajima, claimed Uzumaki Mito as his fiancée, and began planning to secure control of the Uzumaki Clan.

  • Kangetsu avenged his younger brother by slaughtering Hagoromo fighters, growing his Susanoo with the souls and energy of the dead before his vision began to fail.
  • Kangetsu unleashed Ice Age and a Rasenshuriken against the Hagoromo forces, then discovered that the God Tree seed in his body could absorb chakra and that soul lightning purified him.
  • Kangetsu warned the gathered clans about threats to the Uzumaki and Hyuga, confronted Senju Hashirama and Senju Butsuma, and pressed the four clans to focus on defeating the Hagoromo Clan.
  • Kangetsu recruited Hyuga Tianguang by giving him Gentle Fist techniques, while he and Nara Isshin planned to recruit followers and exploit the tailed beasts to pressure the Uzumaki Clan.
  • Kangetsu used Flying Thunder God to cut through the Hagoromo fighters and drive Hagoromo Tian to withdraw, making his techniques and victory known throughout the world.

Arc 6The Crimson Country Campaign

Kangetsu destroyed the Hagoromo Clan, survived the battle with Uchiha Madara, and consolidated power while building the Crimson Village into a country. The Uzumaki Clan joined him, and he left with an elite force to capture the Nine-Tails.

  • Kangetsu used marked kunai to fight Hagoromo Tian, whose lightning giant shattered the battlefield, and escaped through a black space after the markings were disrupted.
  • Kangetsu lost his sight and collapsed, but Uzumaki Mito used her life force to heal him before Yamanaka In and Yamanaka Yang transplanted Meigetsu’s Sharingan and Black Zetsu gave him Indra’s chakra.
  • After recovering with the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, Kangetsu ordered the remaining Hagoromo Clan members killed while sparing his subordinate’s wife and son, then returned to the Uchiha compound and confronted Uchiha Madara.
  • Kangetsu and Uchiha Madara fought with their complete-body Susanoo, and Kangetsu’s God Tree absorbed chakra as the Sage of Six Paths and Black Zetsu intervened in their battle.
  • Kangetsu exhausted his chakra, and their clash devastated the Land of Wind and the Land of Earth before he returned to oversee plans for the Crimson Village.
  • Kangetsu ordered Isshin to plan the conquest of nearby territories and declared that he would establish the Crimson Country and claim half the Land of Fire.

Arc 7The Fall of Fire City

Kangetsu captured the Nine-Tails and used it to punish the Land of Fire and confront the Senju Clan. After a devastating battle with Senju Hashirama, Kangetsu returned to Crimson Village and assessed the new strength he had gained.

  • Kangetsu subdued the Nine-Tails, sealed it into a summoning scroll, and returned to Crimson Village badly injured.
  • Kangetsu learned that the Senju and Uchiha Clans were fighting over the inland plains and that the daimyo of the Land of Fire had sided with the Senju.
  • Black Zetsu gave Uzumaki Mito half of Asura’s chakra and stole the scroll that could summon the Nine-Tails.
  • Kangetsu gave Izuna three Nine-Tails summoning scrolls, then ordered Inoue to destroy Fire City and personally set the city ablaze.
  • Kangetsu and Kurama killed Senju Butsuma after Kangetsu froze his water technique, severed his hands, and absorbed his sage chakra.
  • Kangetsu fought Senju Hashirama and Tobirama Senju, while the Sage of Six Paths secretly strengthened Hashirama with his chakra.

Arc 8The Alliance Against the Uzumaki

Kangetsu absorbed Asura’s chakra and Creation energy, strengthened his forces, and prepared to end the Warring States Period. His agents weakened and manipulated the Hyuga Clan while the Uzumaki Clan’s expansion drove hundreds of clans toward war, leaving Kangetsu poised to shape the conflict between Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara.

  • Kangetsu absorbed Asura’s chakra through Mito, evolved his Rinnegan, and shared Creation energy with Mito, Hanako, and his subordinates, strengthening their bodies and abilities.
  • Kangetsu announced his intention to end the Warring States Period and ordered the construction of twelve structures, including a giant dragon-shaped wall and statues, to prepare for a confrontation with Senju Hashirama.
  • As the Uzumaki Clan captured Tailed Beasts and attacked clans that resisted, Kangetsu arranged for Uchiha Madara to delay the Senju Clan and planned to divide captured Uzumaki clan members among other clans.
  • Uchiha Inoue exposed and killed Hyuga Tianyi, then arranged for Hyuga Tianguang to impersonate him and weaken the Main Family while steering the Hyuga Clan toward conflict with the Uzumaki Clan.
  • Hyuga Tianguang persuaded the Hyuga Clan to oppose the Uzumaki Clan, seek alliances, and offer Senju Hashirama a marriage tie, while the Branch Family gained conditional paths to Main Family status.
  • Hyuga Tianguang led the Hyuga forces to an alliance gathering in Mystery Forest, where clans prepared to fight the Uzumaki Clan over its growing power and pursuit of another Tailed Beast.
  • Yamanaka Ino reported that more than three hundred and eighty clans were marching against the Uzumaki Clan, and Kangetsu ordered Nara Isshin to make both sides suffer heavy losses.
  • Kangetsu learned that Senju Hashirama would marry Hyuga Tianyi’s daughter and that Uchiha Madara represented the Land of Wood against the Senju, then decided Hashirama should oppose Madara while Madara inherited Black Zetsu’s role in the original story.
