Curriculum and Graduation

• Courses: Theory, training, insights, history, and practical application. Material on the Will of Fire is incorporated into theory, insights, and history rather than taught as a separate course 78 140.
• Daily schedule: Four classes—two in the morning and two in the afternoon—with no morning or evening self-study 142.
• Early graduation: Students must attend for at least one full year. Applications are considered during the annual graduation season, giving students one opportunity per year 78.
• Graduation exam: A two-day assessment begins with written papers and ends with a practical test of the Clone, Substitution, and Transformation Jutsu. The written examination runs until school dismissal without a lunch break 160.
• Final requirement: Graduates receive headbands and are assigned to three-person squads led by jonin. They must then earn their squad leader’s approval or return to the Academy 160 164 168.

Staff and Students

• Hiruzen Sarutobi — Principal during Qingfeng’s enrollment. He addresses new students and graduates about the Will of Fire 80 81 285.
• Akimichi Torifu — Joins the Academy to teach after leaving frontline combat, serves as chief examiner for Qingfeng’s graduation, and is later addressed as principal 80 160 492.
• Hayama Shirakumo — A former member of Konoha’s jonin class who serves as Qingfeng and Itachi’s homeroom teacher 79 142.
• Umino Iruka and Mizuki — Former classmates of Qingfeng who later become chunin and homeroom teachers 492 493.

History

Qingfeng arrives for registration only after Inuzuka Hana alerts him that it is taking place. He and Itachi enroll in a class with five other Uchiha students, including Izumi and the Trident Four Brothers 77 78.

Soon after classes begin, the Trident Four Brothers try to establish control over the Academy. Their clashes with sixth-year students lead to Itachi fighting the older class and Qingfeng being called the Academy’s “boss,” a reputation he does not welcome 91 93 95.

Qingfeng and Itachi graduate early after completing the written and Three Jutsu assessments. They are placed on a squad with Yamato and pass Minato Namikaze’s subsequent test 160 164 168 172. Hana, Uzuki Yugao, Mitarashi Anko, and Izumi graduate at a later annual ceremony 285.

Years afterward, Qingfeng returns to find an Academy honor board displaying his photograph and achievements. Uchiha Ishi’s entry appears below it and names Qingfeng as the boss he hopes to emulate 492.
