Background / History

The sect first appears during its assault on Bodhi Temple on Bodhi Island. Its cultivators, including a Golden Core leader, attempt to compel Li Yunjing to assist their attack; after one disciple confronts him in the Bodhi Forest, Li kills the disciple and later traps the sect’s forces with the Great Five Elements Divine Thunder Demon-Extinguishing Array. 378 379

At a later council in the Great Luo Hall, the Sect Master announces a plan to conquer the seven major sects of the East Sea and open a route into the Flying Cloud Sea Region. The leadership prepares for possible war with the Divine Firmament Dao Sect, though many elders dismiss it as an inferior, declining force. The stated objective is to impose the Heavenly Net Dao Sect’s laws upon the cultivation world and establish itself as the foremost Mystic Sect. 381

Li Yunjing subsequently kills or defeats large numbers of the sect’s younger generation, including eight True Disciples who besiege him with Zhao Qi.
