The Great Ape opened its mouth. A startlingly powerful energy sphere gathered inside, then blasted forward.
It had no target. It was simply destroying everything in its path.
The orb exploded in the distance, carving a ditch several meters deep into the ground. Stones flew, and dust filled the sky.
The Great Ape excitedly pounded its chest, then fired another energy blast in a different direction.
Daiz finally came to his senses and flew over to Raditz, asking urgently, "Raditz, what's going on with that guy? How did he suddenly turn into that monster?"
"Saiyans." Raditz watched the Great Ape attack indiscriminately. "That's a Saiyan Great Ape Transformation."
"Saiyans?" Daiz realized. He'd heard of that savage warrior race too.

"There's not much left to destroy," Raditz said, glancing around. Apart from the Tree of Might, there wasn't a trace of life. "Is there?"

Raditz lifted his chin. "Don't rush. Watch what it does."
After destroying everything around it, the Great Ape finally turned its enormous head toward the Tree of Might.
The towering tree, even larger than the Great Ape, looked to the rampaging creature like a rival trying to claim its territory.
Two streams of hot white vapor burst from the Great Ape's nostrils. Its blood-red eyes fixed on the Tree of Might.
"Rroar!!"
It opened its mouth and gathered energy again.
This time, the energy sphere was larger than any before.
The next instant, it shot forward like a miniature sun, heading straight for the Tree of Might and slamming into its trunk.
"Boom!"
A hole blasted through the bark. Thick sap oozed out and covered the wound, as if trying to heal it.
Dissatisfied, the Great Ape opened its mouth again. A second and third blast followed, striking the exact same spot.
At last, the trunk could no longer hold. It cracked, and the Tree of Might began to lean.
It crashed to the ground.
The leaves on its branches quickly withered and turned to ash.
Specks of light spilled from its roots and branches, drifting in all directions. The translucent red fruit hanging from the branches also turned into points of light and scattered across the land.
Wherever the lights fell, the ashen dead soil grew damp. Tender green shoots broke through the cracks in the parched earth, growing at a visible speed.
In the distance, sunlight finally broke through the sky, which had been shrouded by sandstorms for half a month.
The dying Planet Kabacha was bathed in an immense vitality.

Before Daiz could react, Raditz vanished.
The next second, he appeared behind the Great Ape. A circular blade of energy formed in his right hand, and he swung it at the creature's tail.

The sphere formed by the collision inched closer and closer to it.

For the first time, pain entered the Great Ape's roar. Then it was swallowed by the light.

The Great Ape's tail was blasted off.
Its body began to shrink rapidly, and its fur fell away.
In the blink of an eye, Turles lay battered in the crater, his eyes unfocused and smoke rising from his body.
