Background / History

Gu Xun'er is the daughter of Gu Yuan, Patriarch of the Ancient Clan. Gu Yuan brought her to the Xiao Family under the alias “Xiao Yuan” and requested that she live as an ordinary clan disciple rather than receive special treatment. Though initially reluctant, Xun'er remained in Wutan City under the Xiao Family's care. 11

As a child, she was quiet, precocious, and detached from the other Xiao Family children. Her body had been weakened by the forced fusion of the Golden Emperor Burning Heaven Flame, leaving her meridians fragile and her complexion pale. Xiao Qing used his unusually gentle fire-attributed Dou Qi to nourish and clear her meridians for more than a month, accelerating a recovery that otherwise would have taken at least half a year. 12
