Background / History
Xiao Xuan was born into the Xiao Clan when it remained one of the Eight Ancient Clans. He possessed the purest Emperor Dou Bloodline the clan had seen in generations and displayed extraordinary cultivation talent from an early age. He independently created the Three Mysterious Changes of Heavenly Fire, a secret technique comparable to an Emperor Dou technique, and forcibly brought three violent Exotic Flames into equilibrium without relying on the Burning Mantra. 266
He became the youngest clan leader in Xiao Clan history at fifty. Under his leadership, the clan produced several Dou Saints and rose to become the foremost power on the Dou Qi Continent. Xiao Xuan himself reached the peak of the Nine-Star Dou Saint realm within three centuries, approaching the legendary Dou Di threshold. 266
The Xiao Clan’s Emperor Dou Bloodline had nevertheless declined to a critical point. Seeking to preserve the clan’s future, Xiao Xuan gathered the bloodline power of most of his clansmen through a grand formation and attempted to force a breakthrough into the Dou Di realm. The attempt failed; the Xiao Clan’s bloodline origin was exhausted, and the Soul Clan annihilated much of its remaining elite. 212 263
Despite being severely wounded, Xiao Xuan killed dozens of Soul Clan Dou Saints and detonated the three Exotic Flames within himself to grievously injure Hun Tiandi. His body and soul were destroyed, but a fragment of his will and bloodline origin condensed into a remnant soul in the Heavenly Tomb. There, he waited for a worthy Xiao Clan descendant for a thousand years. 266
Xiao Qing eventually encountered him in the Heavenly Tomb. After witnessing Xiao Qing’s strength and ambition, Xiao Xuan entrusted him with the Xiao Clan’s future and accepted his plan to create a new Emperor Dou Bloodline. Xiao Qing later used the Law of Life and Soul Essence to create a body, restore Xiao Xuan’s soul, and complete his resurrection. 267 284 307
Appearance
After his resurrection, Xiao Xuan appears as a middle-aged man in grey robes. His demeanor is composed and weathered by a millennium of loss, though an unyielding fighting spirit remains visible beneath that restraint. 305
- Resolute facial features and a calm, seasoned bearing. 305
- Carries a distinct aura of Xiao Clan ancestral bloodline. 305
- Possesses an imposing presence described as capable of making all things bow before him. 266
Personality
Xiao Xuan was proud, decisive, and fiercely devoted to the Xiao Clan. His willingness to gamble the entire clan’s bloodline on a breakthrough reflected both his courage and his fatal impatience; Gu Yuan regarded him as a man who “lost with tragic grandeur.” 263 264
A millennium in the Heavenly Tomb tempered much of his former sharpness into patience and detachment. He remains direct and formidable toward enemies, but he treats Xiao Qing with genuine pride and places the Xiao Clan’s revival above his own interests. 267 273 307
