Background / History

Hundred Flower Grave was originally known as Hundred Flower Valley, a sect famed for its Hundred Flower Fist and Flower Piercing Leg. Tianwu Holy Land defeated the sect, derided its martial arts as “Flowery Fists and Embroidered Legs,” and branded this humiliation upon the lineage. The sect renamed both its techniques and itself to preserve the insult as a reminder. 4 6

The sect later obtained the Withered Glory Scripture from beyond its domain. Its sect master and elders adopted the scripture’s cultivation methods, then used Life-Eroding Flowers to bypass the risks of ordinary cultivation. This decision bound the sect to an external power and began its descent into internal violence and physical mutation. 8 11

After killing Phoenix Flying Lady, a representative of Tianwu Holy Land, Hundred Flower Grave used evidence of the Holy Land’s weakening to convene other Martial Forest factions. It became a major public face of the anti-Holy Land movement, although its alliance-building and conduct remained politically calculated. 6 23

Flower Fist and Embroidery Leg

The sect’s signature martial arts were renamed from Hundred Flower Fist and Flower Piercing Leg after Tianwu Holy Land’s insult. They are technical arts based on intricate force, rapid transformations, and efficient use of power. 4

• Flower Fist combines numerous changes—strikes, grapples, entanglement, and draining motions—within a single technique. Masters may be described as achieving “a hundred flowers blooming at once.” 11
• Embroidery Leg emphasizes quick turns and short-range positional shifts, making it useful when surrounded but less suitable for long-distance pursuit. 4
• In unskilled hands, the arts resemble the “street performance” implied by their derogatory names; when mastered, they can produce great combat power with minimal force. 4

Withered Glory Scripture

A superior cultivation technique originating from Void-Extinguishing Temple beyond the domain. Its legendary founder underwent Nine Glories and Nine Witherings, returning to youth after becoming an aged, withered corpse. 11

• Requires repeated cycles of withering and flourishing; a failed attempt can result in genuine death. 11
• Allows Internal Force with wood attributes to transform into withering or death attributes, greatly increasing offensive power. 11
• Flower Face can enter a Withering State by using the deaths of other Life-Eroding Flower symbiotes. 11

Life-Eroding Flowers

The sect’s flower fields are the foundation of its shortcut cultivation and its greatest internal vulnerability. 7 11

• Disciples’ lives are symbiotically linked to individual flowers; flourishing flowers increase Internal Force. 7
• Damage or death of a bonded flower causes backlash, qi deviation, or death by withering. 7 12

Strange Art

Hundred Flower Grave’s plant symbiosis is regarded as a form of Strange Art: an inhuman method that alienates the body and lets Internal Force manifest as roots that burrow into targets and absorb nutrients. 38

Internal Conditions

The flower-field system has hollowed out the sect’s cohesion. Disciples watch one another as potential killers, screams are heard within the manor at night, and weaker members risk becoming nourishment for stronger ones. 7 8

The Elder’s diary records that senior members accepted the Life-Eroding Flower despite recognizing it as a dangerous outside influence. It also describes disciples and Sworn Followers being used as nutrients, including cultivators who withered to death after using the Blood Burning Technique. 8

By the time of its war with Tianwu Holy Land, Hundred Flower Grave retained discipline largely through the Life-Eroding Flowers rather than loyalty. Flower Face himself acknowledges that the sect’s cohesion is effectively nonexistent without them. 13 45

Lu Bai’s Infiltration

Following Phoenix Flying Lady’s death, Lu Bai infiltrates the sect’s manor in search of manuals and information. He discovers the guarded flower fields, the sect’s anti-Holy Land gathering, its culture of fear, and the symbiosis binding disciples to Life-Eroding Flowers. 5 6 7

Exposure of the Life-Eroding Flower System

Lu Bai kills an Elder who had used disciples as flower nourishment and obtains the Elder’s diary and several manuals. The diary reveals that the sect’s reliance on otherworldly power has transformed it into the very kind of inhuman force it claims to oppose. 8

Escape and Wanted Campaign

After learning of the Withered Glory Scripture, Lu Bai fights Flower Face, forces him into Deathly Withering, and escapes by exploiting the disciples’ need to defend their symbiotic flowers. Hundred Flower Grave subsequently brands Lu Bai the “Blood Monk” and places him on its wanted list. 11 12 19

Struggle for Martial Forest Influence

Hundred Flower Grave mobilizes support against Tianwu Holy Land, courts Lianwu Mountain, and pressures neutral factions such as the Luo Family. Its public image as a righteous anti-demon force constrains its overt actions while concealing its own Outer Realm backing and internal corruption. 23 30 31

Lingfeng Tower Confrontation

At Lingfeng Tower, Flower Face uses Lu Bai’s identity as an Outer Realm traveler to turn the crowd against him. Lu Bai counters by exposing Hundred Flower Grave’s own outside support, forcing other Martial Forest leaders to consider the danger of allowing the sect to become the next sole dominant power. 42 43 44
