Background / History

Soldier Boy was imprisoned and experimented on by the Russians for decades, but survived; after escaping, he sought out his former manager Legend and demanded the locations of the teammates he believed had betrayed him. He intended to kill them before challenging Homelander, whom he considered an inferior replacement for himself. 55

Legend revealed that Vought had used Soldier Boy's genetic material in Project Odessa to create Homelander, making Soldier Boy Homelander's biological father and Ryan's grandfather. The revelation did not stop him from agreeing to The Boys' request to kill Homelander in repayment for rescuing him, although he first insisted on finding his former teammates. 55 56
