The region’s soul beasts, rather than human visitors, hold every home-field advantage. The Snow Empress and Ice Empress are particularly associated with its core territory and its immense natural ice-and-snow energy. 94 95

Territorial Customs

Far North soul beasts maintain far wider territorial separations than human sects. The Ice Empress considers distances of only a few hundred li between major human factions intolerably close; territories in the Far North are generally separated by at least one hundred li, while overlords’ domains may be thousands of li apart. 105

Temporary Stewardship

When Snow Empress agreed to accompany Nan Feng into the human world, she refused to abandon her responsibilities outright. Before departing, she went to instruct A-Tai to restrain his temperament and watch over the Far North in her absence. 96

The Snow Empress and Ice Empress subsequently spent an extended period outside the region. After becoming uncomfortable with life in Spirit City, they moved to the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well in Sunset Forest, whose extreme ice environment better suited their cultivation. 179

Connection to Nan Feng

Nan Feng first entered the Far North while seeking high-grade frigid materials for Soul Tool construction. His initial encounter with the territorial Snow Empress became a battle that ranged across the ice plains for more than half a month; neither side could defeat the other, and they eventually ceased fighting from exhaustion. 95

Over roughly the next decade, Nan Feng repeatedly returned to collect materials, gradually becoming close friends with the Snow Empress and Ice Empress. Before beginning the God of Evil’s trials, he promised to return and take them to see the God Realm if he achieved godhood. 35 95

Nan Feng was absent for fifty years during his trials, leading the Twin Empresses to believe he had died. He returned to the Far North with Tang Yuehua and signaled for them by projecting his Peerless Douluo aura across the ice plains through spatial power. 94 95

Although the Twin Empresses were initially hostile toward humans in general, they regarded Nan Feng as their sole exception and accepted Tang Yuehua for his sake. Snow Empress and Ice Empress ultimately agreed to leave the Far North with him after he fulfilled his earlier promise to show them the outside world. 96

Nan Feng used Evil God-derived masking attached to their seas of consciousness to conceal their soul-beast origin auras, allowing them to travel through human society as apparent peak Douluo. He later arranged honorary elder identities for them within Spirit Hall to reduce the difficulties they faced in the human world. 96 123

The relationship between Nan Feng and the Twin Empresses later developed beyond friendship. Snow Empress had recognized her feelings for him even before his long absence, while Ice Empress only understood her attachment after waiting for him in the Far North for decades. Both eventually entered romantic relationships with Nan Feng. 119 151 163
