Background / History

The God of Evil and the God of Goodness were the first among the five founders of the God Realm Committee to reach the God King realm. Their seniority established the Committee’s original structure of two God Kings and three Law Enforcement Gods. 8

Before Nan Feng, the God of Evil had descended trials upon ninety-eight candidates across more than one hundred mortal planes over tens of thousands of years. According to Nan Feng, every previous candidate died or broke down during the trials; most failed before the fourth trial, fewer than ten reached the fifth, and only four survived to the sixth. 78

Nan Feng was chosen after entering the Capital of Slaughter in pursuit of Asura God’s inheritance. Instead, the God of Evil intercepted him and imposed his own divine trial, beginning a decades-long ordeal. Nan Feng completed the first seven trials and received the Eighth Trial, initially requiring him to cultivate at least three divine successors within one hundred years. 1 2

After Qian Xunji’s failed trial, the God of Evil unilaterally raised Nan Feng’s Eighth Trial requirement from three successors to five, calling it repayment for his “help” in resolving Qian Xunji’s situation. 82

The God of Evil has not manifested a full physical body. His divine consciousness appears as a pure-black phantom or a cold black radiance carrying an aura of extreme evil and an unsettling sense of holiness. 59 77

Personality

The God of Evil is manipulative, theatrical, and openly entertained by extreme situations. He exploited Bibi Dong’s God-Bestowed Soul Ring trial to reveal Nan Feng’s lies and probe whether she would continue trusting him. 59 60

Nan Feng characterizes him as a sadistic, shameless examiner who repeatedly alters trial conditions to exhaust a successor’s patience and mentality. The God of Evil’s own explanation differs: he considers his trials tests of ability, problem-solving, and absolute ruthlessness, while the God of Goodness is responsible for adding many of the harsher moral tests. 14 144

He has a habit of reframing cruel interference as assistance. After sending Qian Xunji into a lethal trial, he claimed that this had done Nan Feng a favor and used it as justification to increase the Eighth Trial’s quota. 82

The God of Evil selects Nan Feng at the Capital of Slaughter rather than allowing him to receive Asura God’s inheritance. After Nan Feng clears seven trials, the God of Evil issues the Eighth Trial and makes Nan Feng responsible for cultivating divine successors. 1 2

Bibi Dong’s God-Bestowed Soul Ring

Through a God-Bestowed Soul Ring, the God of Evil traps Bibi Dong in an illusion of her deepest trauma, then enters her sea of consciousness to question her reliance on Nan Feng. His attempt to sow mistrust fails when Bibi Dong accepts Nan Feng’s help as a mutually beneficial arrangement despite his deception. 59 60

Qian Xunji’s Trial

After Nan Feng asks whether the God of Evil wants another successor, the God of Evil marks Qian Xunji and begins the First Trial, Cycle of Evil Desire. Qian Xunji collapses before completing even the first cycle; the trial prevents outside interference until Qian Daoliu destroys his soul with Angelic Divine Power. 77 79 80

Eighth Trial Escalation

The God of Evil treats Qian Xunji’s death as a service rendered to Nan Feng and increases the Eighth Trial’s requirement from three successors to five. Nan Feng identifies this as deliberate dynamic difficulty adjustment designed to prevent an easy completion. 82 113

Bo Saixi’s Linked Trial

The God of Evil proposes an extreme version of Bo Saixi’s Sea God Ninth Trial: she would need to kill Nan Feng, become the Sea God, then revive him. The other gods reject the proposal, and Poseidon instead establishes a mutual-assistance trial tied to Nan Feng’s continued progress. 143 144
