Background
Tang San was reborn with the memories and power foundation of his former existence as the Sea God and Asura God. He began his new life as an infant in Qingshi Town near the Clear Sky Sect mountains, where Mother Wang kept him alive only in hopes of obtaining ransom from the Clear Sky Sect. She neglected and abused him, forcing him to survive on scraps and leftovers. 112 120
Even as a child, Tang San used the Mysterious Heaven Skill to preserve his life and recover strength. His resentment toward Mother Wang, Tang Hao, and Chu Ying hardened into a long-term desire for revenge. The Asura God watched his suffering and provided a sliver of divine power to keep him alive. 112 120
At age three, he was made to wash dishes and work in the fields with tools too large for him, while Mother Wang's grandson also bullied him. Tang San concealed his anger and endured the household's treatment until he could act. 149
After six years of abuse, Tang San doused Mother Wang's house with oil, set it on fire with a tinderbox, and fled Qingshi Town. He then made for Suotuo City and Shrek Academy. 161 162 163
Appearance
Tang San initially appears as a poorly treated child marked by the hardships of the Wang household. At his awakening, his martial soul distinguishes him from ordinary Blue Silver Grass users.
- His hands were described as purple from cold, with mud packed beneath his nails while living with the Wangs. 149
- His Blue Silver Grass has pale-blue vines, faint golden patterns, blood-red leaf edges, and an aura of darkness and blood. 163
- By the tournament finals, he stands at the front of Shrek Academy's team with an unreadable, steady demeanor. 205
Personality
Tang San is patient, calculating, and highly self-controlled. As a young child, he suppresses visible hatred rather than reacting openly to Mother Wang's abuse, choosing to wait for an opportunity to escape and retaliate. 149 161
His former-life memories leave him deeply affected by people and relationships from that life. Seeing Ah Yin causes him intense hatred and pain, yet he restrains himself; when Xiao Wu does not remember him, he resolves to earn her trust again rather than force familiarity. 172 179
His restraint is increasingly strained by killing intent and the corruption of his martial soul. He remains capable of practical judgment in battle, conceding when immobilized and unable to reverse a losing situation. 187 216
