Background

Yuanen Yehui was born to the Yuanen Family, which carries the Titan Giant Ape bloodline. She inherited both the Titan Giant Ape and Fallen Angel Martial Souls. The latter is not native to the Douluo Plane: it functions as an anchor through which the Demon Plane can connect to it. Her dual Martial Souls limited the Fallen Angel's influence on her, unlike her mother. 45 47

Her mother was driven mad by the Fallen Angel Martial Soul and attacked her father before later regaining control. Upon reaching the Title Douluo realm, however, her mother opened a Demon Gate that enabled demons to invade the Yuanen Family. The family, assisted by Shrek Academy, sealed the gate, but Yuanen Yehui's second aunt died in the battle. Her mother then committed suicide to prevent herself from being used as an anchor again; Yuanen Yehui's grandfather crippled her father's cultivation and confined him to account for the clan's losses. 47 48

Believing her mother had been executed and her father imprisoned solely because of the Fallen Angel Martial Soul, Yuanen Yehui left the Yuanen Family. She supported herself as a waitress at Shrek City's Nightfall Tavern while preparing to enroll at Shrek Academy. 46 47

Leng Hanyuan sought her out after learning that she was the sole remaining Fallen Angel Martial Soul possessor and therefore the Demon Plane's potential anchor. After revealing her family's history, he offered to accept her as a disciple, suppress the Martial Soul's dangers, and cultivate her in exchange for using the Demon Plane for his own plans. Yuanen Yehui accepted and formally performed the rites of apprenticeship. 45 48

She subsequently moved to Eastsea City and joined Class Zero at Eastsea Academy alongside her senior sister Gu Yue. 51
