Background / History

Tsunade fought alongside Jiraiya and Orochimaru in the Leaf Village army during the war in the Land of Rain. Hanzō later recognized the three as the “Konoha’s Sannin,” though Tsunade rejected the title as unwanted recognition. 13 17

After her younger half-brother Nawaki died during a mission, Tsunade became withdrawn and coped through drinking and gambling. She left Konoha with Shizune after the village stabilized. 29 30 69

Su Zheng, disguised as Konosuke, approached her with Nawaki and offered his return in exchange for Tsunade working for him. Tsunade agreed, then traveled with Nawaki and Shizune to the Land of Rain. 30 31
