Background / History

Lan Yu transmigrated to the inverted Douluo Continent and was found as an abandoned infant in Holy Soul Village by Ah Yin. She raised him and gave him his name. He grew up assisting Ah Yin with household work and helping care for Tang Shan while Tang Shan was mentally impaired during early childhood. Once Tang Shan recovered, the two began practicing the Mysterious Heaven Skill together 1.

At six, Lan Yu awakened the Primordial Dragonman Body Martial Soul with innate full soul power. Although Ah Yin described Body Martial Souls as weak in their early stages, Tang Shan immediately resolved to cultivate her own martial soul to protect him 1 3.

After Ah Yin temporarily left them, Lan Yu accompanied Tang Shan to enroll at Notting Academy as a work-study student. Yu Xiaogang attempted to recruit the siblings as disciples, but Lan Yu remained wary of his theories and later openly disregarded his authority 3 10 16.

Lan Yu prepared for high-level spirit rings by absorbing ten-thousand-year Whale Glue, greatly improving his physical strength. He then acquired a 1,400-year first ring from a Purple Scale Qi Flood Dragon with Xiao Wu and the Titan Giant Ape's assistance 11 14 15.

After the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well expedition, Lan Yu became increasingly entangled in the struggles between Heaven Dou, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, Spirit Hall, and the continent's major sects. Personality

Lan Yu is mature, practical, and unusually responsible for his age. As a child, he took on household responsibilities and helped Ah Yin care for Tang Shan; after Ah Yin left, he comforted Tang Shan and managed their enrollment at Notting Academy 1 3.

He is intensely protective of the people he considers family, particularly Tang Shan. He confronts threats directly, warns Ah Yin about exposing her identity, and reacts with lethal hostility when Ye Lingling reveals knowledge of his connection to the Blue Silver Sacred Heart Sect 4 7 46.

Lan Yu also thinks strategically beyond immediate combat.
