Yu Yuanzhen leads the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, a powerful dragon-martial-soul faction. His younger brother is Yu Luomian, while Yu Xiaogang is his biological son; Yu Tianheng is his grandson 39 52 54.

The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan has suffered from a shortage of successors and relies heavily on Yu Yuanzhen's strength as its sole Titled Douluo 39.

After Yu Luomian was attacked and Yu Xiaogang was castrated, Yu Yuanzhen concluded that Lan Yu was responsible for the clan's recent humiliations. Despite having no confirmed proof that Lan Yu orchestrated either attack, he allowed rage to override his judgment and personally went to Heaven Dou City to seek vengeance 52.
