Background / History

Bai Yi was a modern man who died after being struck by a truck and transmigrated to the Douluo continent as a stone rather than a human. He existed in the Star Dou Great Forest, where Xiao Wu often slept on him, before becoming human through the Lingming Stone Monkey heritage. 1 2

He possesses the template of the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, twin martial souls, and the Great Grade Heavenly Immortal Art. His Lingming Stone Monkey martial soul received a million-year soul ring and divine abilities after he completed the first Heaven-Equal trial by absorbing the Golden Cudgel’s first ring from a three-thousand-year Black Gold Mysterious Armor Bear. 2 3

At six, Bai Yi was dismissed by Yu Xiaogang as having an “embroidery needle” martial soul and weak innate soul power. He revealed the Golden Cudgel instead, pinned Yu Xiaogang with it, and defeated Tang San in a single strike after Tang San challenged him. 1

Spirit Hall repeatedly targeted Bai Yi because of his talent and unknown origins. Bai Yi later accepted the Titan Giant Ape Er Ming's sacrifice, preserving Er Ming as a humanoid soul spirit rather than allowing his consciousness to disperse. The sacrifice elevated Bai Yi to level 53 and gave the Golden Cudgel a hundred-thousand-year fifth ring. 40 41

Using Buddha Kingdom in the Palm, Bai Yi developed an independent living world capable of sheltering people, spirit plants, and soul beasts.
