Background / History
Establishing the Spirit Empire
Bibi Dong established the Spirit Empire with the ambition of unifying the Douluo Continent. She brought most of the Elder Hall’s Titled Douluo under her control, but the Consecrated Hall retained its nominal authority to vote on removing the empress 13.
Chen Fan opposed the timing of the empire’s establishment and warned against some of her plans, including an expedition to hunt two hundred-thousand-year soul beasts in the Star Dou Great Forest. Bibi Dong responded by demoting him to logistics and delaying his coronation. When Qian Daoliu eventually performed the ceremony, she declined to attend 1 10 14.
Jialing Pass and the Otherworld Gate
At Jialing Pass, Bibi Dong recognized the danger of Tang San’s Asura God form before Qian Renxue did. Their combined attack failed, and Tang San immobilized her with Asura Judgment. Qian Renxue sacrificed her divine position in an attempt to save her mother 1.
The sudden appearance of deep-red gates prevented Tang San from killing them. Bibi Dong then learned that the gates connected the continent to Teyvat and offered personal and national rewards—an opportunity she believed could make continental unification possible 1 2.
After witnessing Tang Hao’s defeat and the penalty imposed on his faction, she refused the mission to defend Mondstadt. She tried to stop Chen Fan from entering, but his successful defense instead restored her health and divine power 4 6.
Consolidation and Departures
Bibi Dong selected Tianfeng Douluo for the dragon-purification mission rather than allowing Qian Renxue to participate with her weakened martial soul. Following his success, she proposed making him the Eighth Consecrated, seeking control over the institution that remained tied to the Qian family 9 13.
She interpreted Chen Fan’s resignation as an attempt to force an apology and ordered him either to explain himself or leave. He chose to leave. Qian Renxue also withdrew rather than remain a political puppet, taking Qianjun Douluo and Jiangmo Douluo with her 14 15.
Although Bibi Dong initially refrained from pursuing Chen Fan because Jialing City depended on her protection against Tang San, she later ambushed him in the Star Dou Great Forest. The Silver Dragon King intervened and prevented his assassination 16 17 18.
Losses in Teyvat
Guibao Douluo’s death during the Skyward Harp mission cost Bibi Dong another Titled Douluo without earning a reward. She called a meeting to analyze the failure and angrily rejected Tianfeng Douluo’s attempt to comfort her 20.
The later deaths of Pufferfish Douluo and Tianfeng Douluo left Sea Turtle Douluo as the empire’s sole surviving participant in the Rite of Descension mission. At home, Bibi Dong had only Sea Turtle Douluo and Snake Lance Douluo left among her available Titled Douluo, and the camp’s morale deteriorated sharply 38 40.
Personal Expedition to Bishui Plain
For the mission to seize the Geo Gnosis and survive ten days, Bibi Dong entered Teyvat personally with the level-89 Platinum Bishops Salas and Max. She arrived in a water-filled area and encountered a floating water spirit 43 44 45.
On Bishui Plain, she discovered that azure spheres left by defeated water creatures could strengthen her Rakshasa Demon Scythe. She repeatedly killed regenerating water birds and absorbed their spheres until exhaustion forced her to rest 47 54.
When the birds stopped appearing, a fig-like plant emerged from the platform. She cut it open and extracted a head-sized blue-gold fruit. Unable to store it in her soul tool pouch, she consumed it after recalling her humiliation at Tang San’s hands. The fruit dissolved immediately, released intense blue energy, and left her paralyzed and collapsed in the rain 54 55.
Appearance
- Rakshasa regalia: Appears in divine regalia at Jialing Pass and wears purple armor during her attack on Chen Fan 1 17.
- Divine coloration: Her face is described as purple in her initial appearance and ghastly cyan during the forest ambush 1 17.
- Eyes: Has purple eyes, emphasized when she intimidates Hu Liena 14.
- Aura: Initially radiates a dense, evil presence; after absorbing Teyvat’s azure spheres, her body shines violet-gold 17 47.
Personality
Bibi Dong is intensely ambitious and intolerant of dissent. She values obedience over independent advice, treats Chen Fan’s resignation as a challenge to her authority, and refuses to apologize even after his achievements save the empire. Her attempt to control the Consecrated Hall similarly places political supremacy above preserving her remaining alliances 13 14 15.
Her pride does not eliminate strategic caution. She recognizes the Asura God’s superiority, declines an uncertain mission while severely wounded, and initially accepts that leaving Jialing City would expose her army to Tang San. Her later attempt to kill Chen Fan shows how ruthlessly she acts when she considers a departing subordinate a future threat 1 4 16 17.
She shows genuine concern for Qian Renxue during the battle and speaks more gently to Hu Liena than to other subordinates. Nevertheless, her desire for control prevents reconciliation with her daughter. In Teyvat, the prospect of greater strength eventually overrides her doubts about consuming an unknown fruit 1 13 15 55.
Abilities & Skills
Rakshasa Divine Power
Bibi Dong possesses the power of a First-Class God, with a substantial advantage over even a Peerless Douluo 17 18.
- Immobilizes Qian Renxue, Qianjun Douluo, and Jiangmo Douluo through divine pressure 15.
- Suppresses Chen Fan’s soul power so thoroughly that he cannot manifest his martial soul during her ambush 17.
- Remains vulnerable to superior divine opponents: Tang San defeats her combined assault with Qian Renxue and binds her with Asura Judgment 1.
- Is assessed as stronger than Di Tian at that point in the story, prompting the Silver Dragon King to intervene personally 18.
Rakshasa Demon Scythe Combat
Her principal weapon supports both close-range attacks and projected cutting strikes.
- Summons the scythe into her hand before charging Tang San 1.
- Uses it in repeated lethal attacks against Chen Fan 17.
- Releases a blue-violet blade of scythe light to cut apart the strange plant on Bishui Plain from a distance 54.
Flight and Divine Flames
- Flies low over the submerged Bishui Plain platform 47.
- Erupts with emerald-green flames when launching her attack alongside Qian Renxue 1.
Teyvat Energy Absorption
Bibi Dong discovers a method of strengthening her divine weapon using the remains of Teyvat creatures.
- Piercing azure water spheres with her scythe purifies and enhances it 47.
- Repeats the process after confirming that additional spheres produce further enhancement 47.
- Suspects that killing Teyvat monsters can provide power comparable to acquiring spirit rings or spirit bones; this broader explanation remains her hypothesis 47.
- Consuming the unidentified fruit produces a severe adverse reaction rather than a confirmed advancement 55.
