Background / History

Xiao Wu entered the human world after taking human form, but lacked a lasting sense of security. Tang San initially gave her some reassurance, until she learned that his Title-level father, Tang Hao, had been watching her; this made her fear both human society and the danger of being exposed. Bai Yu also knew her identity, leaving her unable to resist either of them at the time 27 162.

Bai Yu eventually revealed that he knew she was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in human form. Rather than expose her, he placed a Creation Breath Concealment Seal on her forehead to hide her aura and warned her that a Titled Douluo connected to Tang San was following them 27.

She later returned to the Star Dou Great Forest with Bai Yu. Da Ming and Er Ming initially failed to recognize her because she was in human form and her Spirit Beast aura was concealed. Xiao Wu scolded Da Ming for this, then stayed overnight at her former home with Bai Yu 159 161.

During that stay, Xiao Wu shared that her mother had sacrificed herself to protect her. She wishes to take revenge on the humans responsible, but recognizes that she is presently too weak to do so. Bai Yu promised that her mother could potentially be revived through immense Spirit Power and Immortal Herbs or through divine power 162 163.

Personality

Xiao Wu is protective of Tang San, reacting strongly when information concerning his origins and family is revealed 15. She is also emotionally attached to Da Ming and Er Ming, treating them with affection while readily scolding them when they disappoint her 161.

Her time among humans leaves her guarded and fearful of stronger figures who know her secret. Despite this, she gradually becomes more open with Bai Yu, trusting him with the story of her mother and accepting comfort from him 162.

She is easily embarrassed by public romantic teasing and initially rejects Ning Rongrong's attempts to push her toward Bai Yu 74. Later, she becomes conflicted over joining Bai Yu's group, envying the closeness of the other girls while wrestling with her own feelings 152.
