Before long, Vegeta and Son Gohan rejoined the group.
"Tarble, what are you planning to do from now on?" Vegeta asked, adopting the air of an elder.
Tarble answered without hesitation. "I don't know. But, big brother, are you planning to settle down on Earth?"
"Yes," Vegeta replied succinctly.
At that, Tarble immediately smiled. "Then I'll stay on Earth too. There are only a few Saiyans left, so it'd be better if we stayed together."
"By the way, big brother, could you... turn into a Super Saiyan for me to see...?"
He hadn't even finished speaking.
Vegeta's eyes narrowed, and a flash of golden light blazed around him.
With a thunderous boom, he instantly transformed into a Super Saiyan.
After transforming, Vegeta's expression grew even colder. "This is a Super Saiyan. The transformation boosts your power to as much as fifty times its normal level."
After explaining, he immediately returned to normal.
Seeing a Super Saiyan with his own eyes for the first time, Tarble's eyes sparkled as he exclaimed sincerely, "That's amazing!"
"So this is a Super Saiyan!"
"What an incredible aura. And that look... it's so cool!"
The aura Vegeta had let slip during his transformation was an overwhelming force compared to Tarble's current power.
The suffocating pressure swept over him, nearly leaving him unable to breathe.
Hearing him, Vegeta's face showed the faintest hint of a smile, but it quickly turned expressionless again. "Since you've decided to stay on Earth, come with me for now if you have nowhere to live."
"I'll have Bulma help arrange a place for you."
"Bulma?" Tarble asked, feigning confusion. "Is she one of your subordinates, big brother? Is she a Saiyan too?"
Vegeta habitually crossed his arms over his chest and replied calmly, "No. Bulma's an Earthling. She's your sister-in-law!"
"Huh? Bulma's my sister-in-law?" Tarble asked, pretending to be surprised. "You got married, big brother?"
Vegeta frowned at his exaggerated reaction. "Why are you making such a fuss?"
"I'm married. Is that so strange?"
"No, no, not at all!" Tarble waved his hands.
He hadn't secured his meal ticket yet, so he didn't dare provoke this wife-loving fanatic.
"Come with me," Vegeta ordered, soaring into the air.
However,
before he could start flying toward West City, he abruptly stopped and descended to the ground again.
Tarble knew why he'd stopped. Trunks was coming over with Bulma.
Using his sense of ki, he'd detected two auras rapidly approaching.
On Earth, there weren't many people with auras this powerful. What's more, both had the distinctive qualities of Saiyan ki.
Aside from the two little ones, Trunks and Son Goten, who else could it be?
Even so, Tarble pretended not to understand and asked, "Big brother, weren't we going to find my sister-in-law?"
"Why did you stop?"
A hint of helplessness flickered in Vegeta's eyes. "They're already on their way."
"Tarble, you can take this opportunity to calm your mind and use the ki inside your body to sense the powerful individuals around you."
"Trunks, your nephew, is flying here with your sister-in-law."
"Give it a try and see if you can sense Trunks's ki!"
Hearing this, Tarble felt Vegeta's concern for him and promptly replied, "All right, I'll give it a try."
As he spoke, he slowly closed his eyes and began pretending to make an effort.
Licks saw him and closed his eyes to try as well.
Vegeta and the others quickly suppressed their own ki so they wouldn't disturb the two of them.
Everyone looked on with curiosity and anticipation, eager to see whether Tarble's talent really was as extraordinary as they suspected.
Vegeta's anticipation was the strongest of all.
He truly hoped Tarble was even more gifted than Son Goku. That way, there might be a chance to surpass Son Goku.
Although he desperately wished to be the one to surpass Son Goku, he had never been able to measure up to him all these years.
A few years ago, when he fought Majin Buu in the Sacred World of the Kais, he'd willingly acknowledged Son Goku as the strongest Saiyan.
He'd been unwilling to accept it, but the facts were right there, and he had no choice but to admit it.
Years had passed. He'd trained hard and wanted to surpass Son Goku, but he knew the odds were slim.
But seeing Tarble's talent now gave him hope.
All along, warriors with Royal Saiyan blood had naturally been stronger than ordinary Saiyan warriors.
However, Son Goku's appearance had shattered that rule.
He'd always wanted to prove himself against Son Goku. Part of it was because he genuinely wanted to win, but he also wanted to prove that Royal Saiyan warriors were the strongest.
Unfortunately, despite training desperately to catch up all these years, he'd never won even once.
As a result, he'd stopped talking about restoring the Royal Saiyans' reputation.
What was the point of bringing it up when he couldn't even do it himself? It'd just be embarrassing.
Vegeta watched Tarble intently, anticipation in his eyes, his hands unconsciously clenching into fists.
Tarble didn't notice any of this. When he sensed that the two rapidly approaching auras were close, he abruptly opened his eyes.
Under Vegeta's eager gaze, he deliberately exclaimed, "Big brother, I think I've successfully learned how to sense ki!"
As he spoke, he raised a hand and pointed in two directions, the very directions Trunks and Son Goten were coming from.
"There are two incredibly powerful individuals coming toward us at high speed from those directions."
"Am I right, big brother?"
At his words, the Z Fighters all looked surprised.
Tarble had pointed in the right directions.
Piccolo was secretly amazed by Tarble's extraordinary talent. He might even be more gifted than Son Gohan.
At that moment, Vegeta was both surprised and delighted.
To master two techniques for using ki in such a short time—his talent might even surpass Vegeta's.
At the same time, Vegeta's long-held suspicion grew stronger:
The traditional Saiyan method of judging talent was wrong.
If Tarble had known what he was thinking, he would have disagreed. The method wasn't wrong, but it wasn't entirely right either.
At last, a smile appeared on Vegeta's cold face. "Congratulations, Tarble. You've successfully learned how to sense ki."
"Looks like Father was wrong to send you to a distant planet all those years ago."
"Train hard from now on. You're already stronger than Father, but that's not enough."
"Work hard to become a Super Saiyan. There's still a long road ahead!"
When Piccolo and the others heard this, they all looked surprised.
They'd never have expected words like that to come from Vegeta.
Even Tarble was a little surprised.
But he nodded earnestly. "Yeah, I know!"
"My first goal is to become a Super Saiyan!"
"If you can do it, big brother, then I can do it too!"
Vegeta was satisfied and gave a firm nod.
