Background / History
The Primordial World was opened by Pangu after he obtained the Pangu Axe and the Jade of Creation. To gain sufficient power for creation, Pangu killed the three thousand Chaos Gods and Devils and absorbed their origins. The exertion exhausted him, while the Pangu Axe split into the Taiji Diagram, Pangu Banner, and Chaos Bell. 21
After Pangu’s death, the resentful Gods and Devils used their corpses to seal the sun, moon, and stars. Their purpose was to keep the world incomplete, prevent the manifestation of the Heavenly Dao, and ultimately return heaven and earth to chaos. They descended through innate spiritual objects to enact this destruction. 21
In its early age, the world had no visible celestial bodies, but its spiritual resources were extraordinarily abundant. Vermilion Fruits, lingzhi, and other spiritual treasures could be found in great quantities, while Mount Buzhou contained visible mist-like spiritual qi and natural treasures thousands to tens of thousands of years old. 2 9
The Gods and Devils’ aura later spread through the world, beginning the Great Beast Calamity. Living beings below the Primordial Spirit stage could not resist it and were transformed into giant beasts, permanently limiting their future cultivation. 21 22 Once the celestial seals weakened and the stars returned, the Era of Giant Beasts developed into the Era of Ferocious Beasts, accompanied by the emergence of a complete Heavenly Dao and a new cosmic cycle. 35 110
Xuanji eventually merged the Primordial World into his body through the Great Crab Unification Art, remaking it as the New Primordial World. Its Heavenly Dao became stronger, its laws rose from forty-nine to fifty-five, and its living beings received an opportunity to comprehend newly manifested Great Dao principles. 159 160
The New Primordial World later reached fifty-nine laws and began devouring worlds in Chaos. It integrated foreign laws, beings, cultivation systems, and more than a million planes, ultimately exceeding one thousand laws and becoming a supreme great thousand world. 164 174
Cosmology
Heaven, Earth, and the Celestial Bodies
- Mount Buzhou — The first mountain created when Pangu split heaven and earth; it supports the heavens, anchors the earth, and contains vast ranges rich in spiritual treasures. 9
- Sun, Moon, and Stars — Initially sealed by the corpses of the Chaos Gods and Devils; their later emergence enabled cultivators to draw upon celestial power for Golden Core and Primordial Spirit cultivation. 21 35
- Primordial Membrane — A boundary separating the Primordial World from Chaos. Living beings may cross it if they can withstand Chaos Qi. 79
- River of Fate — A vast cosmic river connected to creation, heavenly secrets, and the worlds of the myriad heavens. Even Sages are insignificant before it. 80 105

Heavenly Dao
The Primordial World’s Heavenly Dao could not fully manifest while the sun, moon, and stars were sealed. The completion of the cosmic cycle marked its emergence and began a kalpa in which the struggle over the world’s protagonist would unfold. 21 110
After Xuanji remade the world, he became its Heavenly Dao. He later merged with the Heavenly Dao Mystic Wheel, gaining authority over the world’s workings and the Six Paths of Reincarnation. 159 168 169
- The Heavenly Dao governs the world’s laws, worldly advancement, and karmic order.
- It can reject individuals, turning them into targets of all beings in the world, as occurred to the Netherworld Daoist. 164
- Its Six Paths of Reincarnation can reincarnate deceased beings while erasing their former memories. 168
- World advancement benefits both the Heavenly Dao and its inhabitants; conversely, Primordial Unity Sages can aid a world’s advancement by harmonizing it with the mysteries of Chaos. 191
