Vegeta One-Shots Cumber

While Goku slowly mastered the power of meditation, Vegeta was not idle either, as if he were deep in thought.

"It's time to go see Trunks, Vegeta."

Bulma's voice was gentle as she spoke to Vegeta.

"Vegeta, the Time Machine I just developed can already travel quickly between the two timelines. You don't have to operate it by hand like before. Just say a word to the machine, and it can take you to Trunks's timeline."

"No need. I have a Time Ring."

Vegeta was still as sharp-tongued and soft-hearted as ever, but he really had not seen Trunks in a very long time. He was his son, after all. How could he not miss him?

Vegeta raised his hand and told it to take him to Future Trunks's timeline. Just then, a bottomless black hole appeared before him, and everything within it was a realm he had never explored.

Vegeta slowly walked into the black hole. The Time Ring possessed power faster than the Time Machine, and in a single instant, Vegeta arrived in Future Trunks's timeline.

But after arriving in this timeline, Vegeta saw only a realm of nothingness. There was nothing before him, and Vegeta felt puzzled.

"Why is it all empty space?"

Vegeta suddenly remembered something. This timeline had already been erased by Grand Zeno. Then where should Trunks be now?

At that moment, Vegeta raised the hand wearing the Time Ring again and shouted into the void.

"Take me to find Trunks from this timeline."

The black hole that had just dispersed gathered once more in front of Vegeta, and he flew inside.

The scene shifted. The Time Ring brought Vegeta to a prison. This prison held all the criminals in the universe.

"Why did it bring me here? Did it malfunction?"

No. Vegeta quickly dismissed that idea, because he had already sensed Trunks's aura. But it was very weak, as if he were on the verge of death at any moment.

And Vegeta also sensed a very evil power beside Trunks. This evil was unlike anything he had ever seen.

Vegeta instantly realized something was terribly wrong. He erupted with energy and found Trunks. At this moment, Trunks was already on his last breath, and in front of him stood a Saiyan whose entire body radiated darkness. This Saiyan had long hair and wore a mask over his mouth. One of his hands was gripping Trunks by the neck, while the other was clenched into a fist, raining blows down on Trunks's body.

And this Saiyan was none other than "Cumber."

"Yo, another prey that crossed time and space? Perfect. This will let me enjoy myself properly. This Saiyan's no fun at all."

After saying that, Cumber released Trunks and kicked him aside. Vegeta watched with his own eyes as Trunks was beaten to the point of near death, and now Cumber even dared humiliate Trunks like this right in front of him.

Vegeta roared.

"You dare bully my son like that right in front of me?!"

Vegeta had no habit of messing around. Instead, he clenched both hands, and the power erupting from within his body truly shocked Cumber. Vegeta activated the power of the Seed of Divine Wrath. His hair turned deep purple, his eyes also became deep purple, and a deep-purple aura erupted around his body.

"Are you a God of Destruction? How do you have such powerful strength?"

Cumber was badly frightened by this power.

"I'm not a God of Destruction, but I possess the power to slaughter Gods of Destruction."

After Vegeta said that, he clasped his hands tightly together, flashed behind Cumber at high speed, and smashed both fists down onto Cumber's head like a giant hammer.

That blow completely stunned Cumber. He had never imagined that a Saiyan he had casually provoked would actually have such a powerful father. But he was not someone to be trifled with either, and he began erupting with the dark power inside his own body. A dark aura appeared around him, his face gradually became ferocious, his eyes slowly began to turn white, and his hair slowly turned golden.

Vegeta did not want to drag things out with him, because whether Trunks was dead or alive was still uncertain. While Cumber was charging up to become a Super Saiyan, Vegeta used the God of Destruction's power within the Seed of Divine Wrath.

One hand suddenly grabbed one of Cumber's hands, while the other was placed on Cumber's forehead. Vegeta shouted the two words "Destroy," and Cumber's power rapidly dissipated. The dark aura erupting around his body vanished as well, and his body quickly disintegrated before Vegeta. Cumber used his last bit of strength to punch Vegeta in the face, but before that punch could even be thrown, he was completely erased.

Poor Cumber. He had not even finished transforming into his Super Saiyan form before Vegeta erased him with that one move.

After erasing Cumber, Vegeta quickly picked up Trunks and shouted for it to take the two of them back to his own main timeline. A familiar black hole appeared before him, and Vegeta rushed in anxiously.

In an instant, Vegeta returned to his own main timeline. At that moment, Bulma was still modifying her Time Machine, while Little Trunks was playing nearby. Seeing Vegeta return so quickly, before they could even greet him, she and Little Trunks saw Trunks in Vegeta's arms.

"What happened to Trunks?"

"Trunks, hurry and get a Senzu Bean!"

Little Trunks did not dare waste even a second. He quickly flew into the house to look for the Senzu Beans Goku had left for them.

"Where is it!? Where is it!? Where did I put the Senzu Beans!?"

Little Trunks was so anxious he was losing his head. He searched his own room from top to bottom but could not find them, then quickly ran to the living room to look. Finally, he found the Senzu Beans in a jar.

"Found them, found them!" Little Trunks tightly gripped the few remaining Senzu Beans in his hand.

Little Trunks could no longer afford to use the door. Time was too tight. He rammed headfirst into the wall, smashing a huge hole through it, and swiftly flew to Vegeta.

Vegeta took a Senzu Bean and stuffed it into Future Trunks's mouth. After Future Trunks's battered body received the Senzu Bean's healing, the blood flowing from his body also congealed on the ground. His entire body rapidly changed at a visible speed, and soon Trunks regained consciousness.

As soon as Future Trunks opened his eyes, he saw Vegeta, Bulma, and Little Trunks at his side.

"Dad, where am I?"

"You're in our timeline, Trunks."

Only then did Vegeta finally calm down.

"What happened to you, Trunks? How did you get captured and sent to the Universe Prison?"

Trunks carefully thought back over what had happened before, then recounted everything to them in detail.

"Because my traveling through time and space caused a timeline disorder, the Time Patrol arrested me and put me in the Universe Prison."

"Where did that dark Saiyan come from, then?"

"Someone let him in. He killed every member of the Time Patrol, and in the end, I was the only one left in the prison. I never thought I wouldn't be a match for him at all, but he didn't seem to want to kill me. He kept trying to talk me into working with him."

Questions began rising in Vegeta's mind.

"Working with him on what?"

"It sounded like something about getting rid of Grand Zeno."

Vegeta was shocked. He hadn't expected someone like that to exist on another timeline.

"With their strength, how are they supposed to fight Grand Zeno?"

"I heard him say before that several others with powerful strength hadn't come over yet, and were gathering power on other planets instead. But, Father, how did you get to that timeline?"

Vegeta raised his hand and showed Trunks the Time Ring on it.

"A Time Ring? How did you get that?"

"By making a wish to Super Shenron."

"Super Shenron? Is that the same dragon Zamasu used back then to swap bodies with Uncle Goku?"

"Yes."

"Then you defeated that evil Saiyan?! His strength was truly incredible. I could vaguely sense that he was even stronger than your and Uncle Goku's blue Saiyan forms."

At that, Vegeta gave a disdainful laugh.

"Even if ten of him came at me, they still wouldn't be enough."

Hearing Vegeta say that, Trunks grew curious about his power as well. After all, as far as he knew, Vegeta's strongest form was Super Blue.

"Father..."

"Don't ask. I won't lie to you. Kakarot and I will go to your timeline and wipe out those disasters."

"But the Grand Zeno from that timeline has already been brought to this timeline by Uncle Goku."

Vegeta thought it over, and Future Trunks was right. After all, after they had dealt with Zamasu, the future Grand Zeno had come to this timeline. Then why hadn't he seen the future Grand Zeno when he and Goku went to Grand Zeno Palace before?

"Vegeta, Future Trunks, little Trunks, come eat!"

Bulma came over to them.

"Mom..."

Future Trunks hugged Bulma tightly, and Bulma hugged him back. Tears filled Future Trunks's eyes, as if there were so many things he wanted to say to her.

Vegeta hated seeing scenes like this most of all. He turned his head away and took little Trunks into the house to eat. It wasn't that Vegeta was jealous; it was the pride ingrained in his bones that wouldn't allow him to watch such a touching scene.

"All right, Trunks, let's eat first. In a bit, Vegeta and little Trunks will have finished all the food."

Bulma patted Trunks on the shoulder. Future Trunks was unwilling to let go of Bulma. After all, when a child saw his mother, there was always an indescribable sense of dependence.

Ever since Zamasu had destroyed Bulma in the future spacetime, the only person left in the future timeline for Future Trunks to rely on was Mai. But inside the Universe Prison, he didn't even know whether Mai was dead or alive. All he could do was hope she was still alive.
