Background / History

Slaughter City is rumored to be a domain left behind by a Soul Master who surpassed level 100 roughly a millennium ago. Its possible connection to a god's inheritance—particularly the Asura God—is treated as legend rather than certainty. Those who achieve one hundred consecutive victories in the Hell Slaughter Arena and clear Hell Road may receive the title of Slaughter King and the Divine Slaughter's Domain. 36 213

Spirit Hall does not control the city directly. Its law enforcers either execute Fallen Ones or force them into Slaughter City, where they can no longer easily return to the outside world. Qian Daoliu considers the city a useful containment system: eliminating every criminal outright could provoke greater violence, while destroying a suspected divine inheritance site could bring consequences Spirit Hall cannot bear. 212 214

Only six people are said to have left Slaughter City over the past millennium. 213

Entrance and Appearance

Slaughter City is reached through a blood-scented entrance town. Its access point lies beneath a tavern, beyond a descending tunnel lit by dim Soul Guidance Lamps. 211 212

Suppression of Soul Skills

Soul Ring skills cannot be used inside Slaughter City. However, Spirit Bone skills, Self-Created Soul Skills, domains, innate abilities, and martial-soul traits remain usable. 201 202 212 215

Each newcomer receives a black-clad guide for twelve hours, during which the guide answers questions about the city. After that period, the newcomer is considered a formal resident. 213

The city is protected by an Enforcement Team. Its strongest known members are Soul Douluo permitted to use Soul Ring skills, while its captain is a Titled Douluo. Escape attempts are met with execution. 213

Hell Slaughter Arena

The Hell Slaughter Arena is the city's central proving ground and the primary route toward freedom.

Yu Changge's planned training

Yu Changge first intends to visit Slaughter City upon reaching Soul Emperor rank. His goals are to obtain the Divine Slaughter's Domain, temper his practical combat ability, and create techniques for his second Body Martial Soul. 198 201

He believes the domain will strengthen his own close-combat capability more directly than Radiant Domain, whose primary benefits favor Xiao Huang and light-element control. 201

Arrival and admission

After gaining his sixth Soul Ring and reaching level 65, Yu Changge travels to the entrance town with Qian Daoliu, Yue Guan, and Gui Mei. They enter the tavern, reject the Bloody Mary ritual, and descend into the underground passage. 211 212

Yu Changge defeats the Black Armored Knight at the gate using Dragon Transformation, receives identity token 9527, and enters Slaughter City alone. 212 213

First arena battles

Yu Changge immediately enters the inner city and obtains a cup of Bloody Mary by swiftly defeating a burly Fallen One. He then registers for the Hell Slaughter Arena. 214 215

Within several days, he participates in three arena matches and kills more than one hundred Fallen Ones, including ambushers who attack after his matches. He concludes that survival in Slaughter City requires creating enough fear that others no longer dare target him. 215
