Wang Ping grew up in poverty in Songwu Village. He was visibly malnourished, wore worn clothes, and carried hatred in his eyes. His father had been a two-ring War Tiger Soul Master and army centurion who died in the war against the Star Luo Empire; a Heaven Dou noble withheld the family’s pension afterward. 150 151

During his martial soul awakening, no visible martial soul appeared, leaving Wang Ping distraught. Testing revealed Rank 2 innate soul power, and deacon Wen Shao concluded that he had awakened a rare Body Martial Soul—possibly Full Body or Skin. When Spirit Hall offered specialized support for Body Martial Soul wielders, Wang Ping immediately chose to join. 151

He was later brought to Spirit Hall among twenty-two suspected Body Martial Soul masters. Yu Changge identified his martial soul as an exceptionally pure Full Body Body Martial Soul, encompassing all parts of his body, but explained that Wang Ping’s low innate soul power likely resulted from congenital deficiencies caused by poor childhood nutrition. 156 160

Appearance

Wang Ping is introduced as an undersized, underfed village child with a grim and determined demeanor. As his training progresses, his martial soul visibly strengthens his physique.

Wang Ping is quiet and observant, but not passive. During the other recruits’ debate over whether to accept Yu Changge’s demanding training, he remains calm and independently concludes that ordinary cultivation will never give him the power needed to confront the noble who wronged his family. 158

His defining trait is his determination to grow stronger. He volunteers questions in class despite the other students’ hesitation, seeks entry into dangerous training even if he cannot meet the stated cultivation requirement, and refuses to give up during the Second Awakening trial even after losing consciousness. 160 176 199
