After seeing Dugu Bo off, the ever-curious Xiao Wu impatiently rushed over to Huang Long.
"Lord Dragon God, what exactly was that third method you mentioned? Why so mysterious?"
"You want to know too?" Huang Long raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Mm-hmm!"
Xiao Wu nodded repeatedly, her face full of anticipation.
Sea Dragon Douluo and Sea Maiden Douluo exchanged glances, then smiled at each other.
Sea Maiden Douluo smiled. "The method the Holy Son mentioned should be the soul core method, right?"
"S-Soul core?"
Xiao Wu scratched her head in confusion. "What's a soul core? Can you eat it?"
Huang Long pointed at Sea Maiden Douluo. "Let Sister Sea Maiden explain it to you later."
As he spoke, he stretched and yawned. "It's getting late. Hurry back to your rooms and get some sleep."
"Tomorrow, we're going somewhere amazing! An absolutely incredible place!"
Upon hearing this, everyone began looking forward to the next day's journey.
Late at night.
Everyone fell into a deep sleep. Even Ah Yin curled her leaves inward and entered a dormant state.
In the blink of an eye, the next day arrived.
Around midmorning.
After getting up, everyone quickly packed their things and left the hotel.
The moment the group stepped out of the hotel doors, they saw Dugu Bo standing outside with Dugu Yan.
With his hands behind his back, Huang Long walked over and nodded in greeting. "Good morning, Poison Douluo."
Dugu Bo's mouth twitched slightly, and the moment he opened it, his voice was full of resentment.
"You brat are really something. You kept this old man hanging all night and made it impossible for me to sleep."
Huang Long shrugged helplessly. "Can't be helped. Teacher said this method can't be passed on casually unless they're like-minded with us."
Dugu Bo tugged at the corner of his mouth irritably but said nothing. He turned and left.
Dugu Yan looked at them curiously, especially glancing between Huang Long and her grandfather.
She was dying to know what they had discussed yesterday.
Huang Long turned around and met her curious gaze. Smiling, he said, "Don't ask. Just follow us."
Dugu Yan gave a soft "Oh," then silently followed everyone away.
The group rented a carriage from a carriage shop in Heaven Dou City and headed straight for Sunset Forest.
After a journey of two hours, they arrived at Sunset Forest.
The carriage slowly came to a stop at the edge of Sunset Forest.
Huang Long lifted the curtain and jumped down. Looking out, he found that the trees were sparser than he had imagined, allowing broad patches of sunlight to fall through.
Dugu Bo stepped forward and said in a low voice, "Stay close, everyone. Although Sunset Forest isn't as large as Star Dou Great Forest, the terrain inside is complicated, and it's very easy to get lost."
"Also, some areas of the forest are shrouded in poisonous miasma. Once inhaled, it will poison you."
"It won't kill you, but it'll leave you bedridden for several days."
"Besides that, there are also powerful soul beasts lurking in the forest. They can be deadly as well."
Upon hearing this, Sea Dragon Douluo stepped forward. "Then I'll take the lead. Sea Maiden, you stay at the rear and protect the Holy Son."
"As for you, Dugu, just protect your granddaughter."
Dugu Bo nodded slightly. "Fine. Let's go, then."
With that, the group entered Sunset Forest in a grand procession.
Xiao Wu stayed close by Huang Long's side, though her eyes curiously surveyed their surroundings.
She had lived in Star Dou Great Forest when she was young, so she was no stranger to this kind of forest environment.
However, the Sunset Forest before her was vastly different from Star Dou Great Forest.
Star Dou Great Forest was so dense that not even light could penetrate it. Entering it felt like crawling beneath a green canopy, stuffy and damp.
Sunset Forest, on the other hand, felt much drier to her.
The air also carried the distinctive scent of vegetation found in northern temperate forests.
From time to time, brief hisses echoed through the woods, though it was impossible to tell what was making them.
The branches and leaves overhead would occasionally rustle, as if something were watching them intently.
But it was quickly frightened away by Sea Dragon Douluo's aura.
They continued walking for roughly another two hours.
The blazing sun hung high overhead.
Dugu Bo led them to the entrance of a hidden valley.
A cloud of green poisonous mist filled the entrance, sealing off the interior so completely that nothing within could be seen from outside.
Dugu Bo suddenly stopped and rummaged through his storage soul tool.
He took out five bottles of green medicine and handed them out to everyone.
"These are poison-resistance potions. Drink them immediately. They'll help you withstand the poisonous mist ahead."
Huang Long and the others accepted the potions and, without another word, drank them all in one gulp.
Only after everyone had finished their potions did Dugu Bo lead them into the poisonous mist.
The mist swallowed their figures, their vision completely blocked by the green poisonous miasma, leaving them able to see only a few steps ahead.
They huddled close together as they made their way through the mist.
Just then, Xiao Wu suddenly tugged on Huang Long's sleeve. "Dragon God, don't you think it's a little hot here?"
"It is a little hot. It feels like we've reached the mouth of a volcano." Sea Maiden Douluo wiped sweat from her face.
Huang Long merely smiled. "Hot is good. It means we're almost there."
The moment his words fell, the poisonous mist ahead suddenly thinned, and their view opened up at once.
A basin enclosed by mountain walls spread out before them, and a circular pool roughly ten meters in diameter came into view.
What surprised everyone was that the water in the pool was divided into two colors: red and white!
The red half was thick as blood, flames rising from its surface as it radiated an overbearing heat.
The white half, however, was a crystalline azure, snowflakes floating upon its surface as it gave off a biting chill.
Two springs with utterly different temperatures and energies were clearly separated within the pool.
They met only at the center in a fish-eye-shaped point, like a yin-yang diagram, neither encroaching upon the other even as their energies collided.
"How... can this be?" Sea Dragon Douluo's pupils trembled sharply.
He had lived for so long, yet he had never seen such a spectacle!
"The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well!" Huang Long stared at the pool, his eyes shining like light bulbs.
"The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well? That's a good name."
Dugu Bo laughed heartily, then immediately warned them sternly, "Don't be fooled by how pretty that water looks. Whatever you do, don't go near it."
"Once you fall into that pool, the energy inside will instantly tear your body apart. Even I can't avoid it."
Sea Dragon Douluo and Sea Maiden Douluo immediately backed away three steps in alarm.
Xiao Wu's nose twitched slightly. "It smells so good! Dragon God, look—there are all kinds of flowers and plants growing everywhere!"
Looking in the direction Xiao Wu pointed, they saw that the ground truly was covered in all manner of flowers, grasses, and plants, some of them gleaming with dazzling treasure light.
Especially near the red-and-white spring, where the glowing plants grew in the greatest numbers.
Curiously, Xiao Wu walked toward a plant that looked like a pumpkin. She crouched slightly and reached out to touch it.
"What is this?"
Dugu Bo's expression changed drastically. "Don't touch it! It could be highly poisonous!"
Xiao Wu's pupils contracted, and her hand froze helplessly in midair.
