Background / History

Android 18 and Android 17 confront Vegeta and Piccolo during the Android crisis. Despite their inexhaustible energy, the siblings are overwhelmed; Android 18 is left badly injured and unable to resist Vegeta's Final Flash. 27 28

Tang Yangbing intercepts the attack, disperses it with one hand, and shields her with an energy barrier. He publicly declares that she is under his protection and will take responsibility for her actions. Although initially startled and defensive, Android 18 finds his embrace reassuring. 28

When Cell absorbs Android 17, Android 18 immediately attacks him in an attempt to save her brother. Her attacks fail to harm Cell, who later seriously injures her with an energy blast; Tang Yangbing rescues her again. 29 31 32

After Tang Yangbing defeats Perfect Cell, Cell regurgitates Android 17 and an unconscious Android 18 from the future timeline. Android 18 is shaken by the existence of her counterpart but insists that the future Android's crimes do not define her. 34 35 38

Tang Yangbing brings both versions of Android 18 to New Namek. Porunga fuses them into a single being with Android 18's consciousness dominant, creating Super Android 18. A subsequent wish restores her to humanity while preserving her infinite energy. 39 41 42

Android 18 is a fair-skinned woman with short golden-blonde hair and blue or ice-blue eyes. Following the fusion, her appearance remains recognizably hers, but her aura and physical presence become markedly more refined and powerful. 27 41
