Background / History

Di Xiao is one of the three external incarnations created by Di Xin alongside Di Chen and Di Xuan. Each incarnation possesses the same cultivation realm and abilities as Di Xin and is dispatched to gather resources and intelligence across the Primordial World 2.

After the North Sea crisis begins, Di Xin considers sending Di Chen and Di Xiao to the battlefield. Di Xiao abandons his search for Yingzhou Island and Fangzhang Island in the East Sea when Di Xin transmits his will to him during the mission to kill Nine Infants 9.

Di Xiao later travels to Three Mountains Pass to meet Kong Xuan. He reveals the Human Emperor Seal, changes his appearance into Di Xin's, and identifies himself as Di Xin's self corpse. He warns Kong Xuan about the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, the fall of Great Shang, and Kong Xuan's future enslavement by a Heavenly Dao Sage. Di Xiao then appoints Kong Xuan as Great Shang's Divine Beast Protector of the Nation and gives him a communication talisman 11 12 13.

At Plum Mountain, Di Xiao reveals his identity to Yuan Hong and the Six Monsters of Plum Mountain. After proving his connection to Di Xin through the Human Emperor Seal and his perfected Quasi-Sage power, he orders the Seven Sages of Plum Mountain to go to Chaoge, where Di Xin will arrange positions for them 15 16.

Di Xiao intercepts Lei Zhenzi at the Yan Mountains before Ji Chang and Yun Zhongzi can find him. He sets up an illusion formation near the tree hollow, waits for the infant's appearance, then teleports away with him and returns to Chaoge 16 17.

Inside the Chaos Pearl's spatial world, Di Xiao becomes one of the key instructors for Great Shang's younger talents. He teaches Yang Jian, Yin Jiao, Yin Hong, Jin Zha, Mu Zha, Jiang Wenhuan, Huang Tianhua, Huang Tianxiang, and Wei Hu, oversees their body-forging, grants them Pangu Demon God's blood essence, and activates time-acceleration and spirit-gathering formations for their cultivation 17 25 40.

Di Xiao later guides Yuan Hong personally, imparting the Nine Revolutions Origin Art and Nine Revolutions Mystic Art to him and providing a storage ring of cultivation resources 45.

At Chentang Pass, Di Xiao arrives before Nezha's birth on Di Xin's orders. He hides his identity from outsiders under the name "Brother Huang," informs Li Jing that the child will be born that day, erases Nezha's original memories after birth, seals his mind, names him Nezha, and clashes verbally with Taiyi True Person before taking Nezha away. To conceal his origins further, he directs Taiyi toward the nonexistent claim that he comes from Spirit Platform Square-Inch Mountain 48 49 50.

As the Great Zhou campaign escalates, Di Xiao completes the seventh layers of the Nine Revolutions Origin Art and Nine Revolutions Mystic Art. Di Xin then sends him to Three Mountains Pass to give Kong Xuan the Seven-Colored Ancestral Phoenix Blood Essence and bring him into the Chaos Pearl for accelerated cultivation before both proceed to support Sishui Pass 81 82.

During the great battle against the Heavenly Dao Sages, Di Xiao fights Daoist Zhunti while wielding the Earth-Splitting Chisel. He subsequently advances alongside Di Xin and the other incarnations after the latter receives and distributes Primordial Dao Fruits 98 107.

Di Xiao later discusses the Dao with Patriarch Bodhi at Spirit Platform Square-Inch Mountain. After Di Xin relays Di Chen's discovery of the Five-Colored Divine Stone, Di Xiao accompanies Bodhi to Flower-Fruit Mountain to prevent Hongjun from taking the stone and to protect the future Spirit-Illuminated Stone Monkey 143 144.

Following Di Xin's acquisition of the Human Race's Nine Forbidden Secret Arts, Di Xiao receives their cultivation methods and helps position the Human Race's Nine Cauldrons upon the dragon veins of the Nine Provinces 193. When Hongjun attacks Great Shang, Di Xiao battles him directly and uses several Human Nine Secrets, forcing Hongjun to burn his origin to escape. Personality

Di Xiao is calm, direct, and controlled in negotiations. When Yuan Hong and the Six Monsters of Plum Mountain prepare for possible conflict, Di Xiao notices their secret magical transmissions but does not react, continuing the meeting until he can reveal his identity on his own terms 15.

He is strategic and secrecy-minded. He seals halls before sensitive conversations, conceals his identity when visiting Li Jing, and uses illusion formations to intercept Lei Zhenzi without alerting Ji Chang or Yun Zhongzi 15 16 48.
