The moment Zenin Xuan came to his senses, he immediately became alert and looked around at his surroundings.
A pure white train station, a train that has just departed, children walking inside the train station—and so on.
Sniff.
It tastes like grilled sausage.
Zenin Xuan touched his pockets—he didn't have a single penny left. He reached for his phone, but realized he didn't have one.
"Hello, Mr. Xuan."
Just as Zenin Xuan, Itadori held up two grilled sausages drizzled with ketchup and handed one to Gen.
"... Yuji Itadori?"
Zenin Xuan looked at the guy in front of him whose temperament and appearance didn't match at all, and a whole bunch of questions flooded his mind again, but he only hesitated for a moment before taking the sausage.
Taking a bite, the rich juices splashed into his mouth. In a flash, Zen-in- Zenin Xuan, who instinctively tried to strengthen his mouth with his Cursed Energy to avoid getting burned, stuck out his tongue.
"... I come from another world."
"Hot... Phew--Ah, I know."
"That's true, after all, you are Mr. Xuan."
Itadori carefully took a bite, and as he chewed, he walked towards the station stairs. Zenin Xuan stood up and followed him.
"... It was Sukuna who sent me to find you about 68 years later—with your permission, Gen-sensei, and also with Satoru Gojo -sensei's permission."
"I?"
But I'm already dead.
Zenin Xuan Gen looked at Yuji Itadori with a puzzled expression.
"Yes, I can sense it. Once the domain shatters, your freed soul will revert to Cursed Spirit once more. If you remain in Cursed Spirit form for too long, you will completely disappear."
"Someone has to free me!"
"But..."
The two people who were taking steps forward stopped at the same time, as if they sensed something.
Itadori walked out of the shade of the trees, while Zenin Xuan, who was walking behind him, did not go any further.
"Mr. Xuan—there is no one in this world who can save you."
"I originally wanted to die... I should have died after being hit by the combined attack from Satoru Gojo and Sukuna."
Zenin Xuan raised his hand and made a grasping motion in mid-air, his words revealing a hint of resentment—and a sense of relief.
"Satoru Gojo and Sukuna are truly formidable opponents."
Itadori didn't say much, but waited for Zenin Xuan to continue. Only after Zen-in Gen uttered the last sentence did Itadori look at Zenin Xuan- in Gen.
"You would never say something like that in my world."
"Haha... what will he say?"
"'Be proud, Satoru Gojo, you're strong.' -- Oh, if you lost, it would be 'I'm sorry I couldn't make Satoru Gojo- sama use his full strength.'"
Zenin Xuan was stunned. He stared at the Itadori in front of him, remained silent for a moment, and then grinned.
"Hahahaha--That really sounds like something I could say."
Itadori beckoned Zenin Xuan to emerge from under the shade of the tree. Zenin Xuan Gen let out a long sigh of relief and then stepped out of the shade.
The two walked on for a while longer without saying a word, simply enjoying the scenery along the street.
Then, Itadori spoke.
"Originally, I thought Iwate wouldn't change anymore."
"..."
Zenin Xuan raised his head and looked at the surrounding scenery. On the high-tech signboard, he saw Iwate Prefecture —and their location.
"Wow, technology is incredibly advanced, isn't it? If we live another ten or a hundred years, we probably won't even recognize the bricks on the ground anymore."
Itadori Cane stopped—and turned around at the crossroads.
"What are your feelings...? Having lived alone for over five hundred years—Mr. Xuan."
