| Self-Embodiment of Perfection reproduced | 137 | Gojo and Sukuna reconstruct Mahito’s technique, innate domain, and barrier structure to prepare a soul-targeting attack. |
| Space-targeting Expansion Cursed Techniques | 144 147 | Analyzes Gen’s spatial rift, then works with Sukuna to extend attacks onto space itself. Deploys spatial Furnace: Open and Hollow Purple. |
Background / History
Sealing and attempted rescue
After the Shibuya Incident, Gojo is imprisoned in the Prison Realm. Jujutsu authorities brand him an accomplice, permanently expel him, and declare attempts to free him criminal. Maki and Megumi recognize the ruling as an opportunity for the higher-ups to regain control without Gojo opposing them 34 36.
His allies consult Tengen about opening the Prison Realm’s back gate. The proposed tools—the Inverted Spear of Heaven and Black Rope—are unavailable after Gojo destroyed them. Angel’s technique-nullifying ability becomes another possible means of release 34.
Release and duel with Xuan
Kenjaku instead opens the Prison Realm himself. Before doing so, he fills it with memories of another world, forcing Gojo to repeatedly watch Zenin Xuan slaughter his students. On emerging, Gojo recognizes that the Xuan standing before him is different from the man in those memories 89 90.
The two discuss Gojo’s students, the attacks on his associates, and Xuan’s purge of Jujutsu Headquarters. Their conversation develops into a mutually welcomed duel. Both expand their domains, then exchange Hollow Techniques, close-range attacks, and Black Flashes 90 91 92.
Gojo undergoes a second awakening during the spar and later uses Chaos’s distorted passage of time to improve his barrier techniques. His new open domain traps Xuan for a colossal Hollow Purple; the narration declares Gojo the winner 92 97.
Confrontation and December 24 agreement
Despite exhausting most of his cursed energy, Gojo confronts Kenjaku and overwhelms him with a Red-infused punch. Kenjaku secures a delay by threatening Idle Transfiguration marks inside Megumi and Yuta, also invoking his possession of Suguru Geto’s corpse 105 106.
Gojo, Xuan, Kenjaku, and Sukuna agree to a binding vow establishing a December 24 confrontation in Shinjuku and forbidding attacks on others until then. After their enemies leave, Gojo and Xuan admit that neither could deploy a domain and that the delay was necessary 106.
Alternate-world battle against Zenin Xuan
Kenjaku sends Sukuna into a world where Zenin Xuan has survived for nearly six hundred years and devastated Jujutsu High’s forces. That world’s newly unsealed Gojo and fifteen-finger Sukuna had previously lost to him. Before the December 24 battle, the gathered sorcerers encourage Gojo, with even Sukuna joining in 113.
Gojo and Sukuna begin with amplified attacks, then fight Gen’s adapted shikigami and repeated domain expansions. Gojo awakens Malevolent Shrine, partially fuses with Sukuna, and combines Limitless, slashes, and shadow storage into a layered defense 114 115 116 121 125.
After Gen transforms into a vengeful cursed spirit, ordinary destruction proves insufficient: Gojo reduces his body to dust, only for him to return. Little Mo enters Gojo and Sukuna’s shared mental space and offers assistance, supplying adaptations and helping formulate a soul-targeting plan 129 131 132 133.
Gojo eventually develops space-targeting attacks and holds Gen inside a sustained Hollow Purple bombardment. Yuji arrives to take over the battle. Following Gen’s death, Gojo witnesses a white-clad Yuji restore the destroyed city and silently announce his departure before disappearing 147 148 149 151.
Later activities
Gojo remains active around Jujutsu High, while Xuan takes responsibility for more structured instruction. With Tengen absent and the barriers no longer effectively containing cursed energy overflow, dangerous cursed spirits appear throughout Tokyo. Gojo later patrols Japan, using the Six Eyes to identify sorcerers and curse users 152 155.
Appearance
- Sky-blue eyes: His eyes are repeatedly described as azure or sky-blue, becoming especially conspicuous when the Six Eyes are active 90 97.
- Blindfold: Wears a strip-like blindfold, which he removes before serious exchanges with Xuan and Kenjaku 91 105.
- Outerwear: Discards his coat during the duel with Xuan; wears a white coat before the alternate-world final battle 91 113.
- Sukuna-incarnation form: Has four azure eyes, four arms, a normal mouth, an abdominal mouth, and another small mouth on his cheek. The fusion is explicitly incomplete 125.
Personality
Gojo mixes extreme confidence with persistent teasing. He jokes about his students criticizing his teaching, photographs Kenjaku’s stunned expression during a confrontation, and trades online arguments with Sukuna. His playfulness extends to taking deliberately ridiculous photographs with Xuan and sharing sweets with Ryu Ishigori 90 105 111 112.
He takes genuine pleasure in meeting a powerful opponent. Even during a spar, he wants the achievement of defeating “the strongest in history.” His confidence does not prevent tactical honesty: after bluffing Kenjaku and Sukuna, he acknowledges that his depleted condition made the postponement valuable 92 106.
His concern for his students is more serious than his manner suggests. He asks Yuta to protect Yuji, correctly anticipates attacks on his associates during his absence, and says that another teacher winning over his students would reflect his own shortcomings rather than their disloyalty 30 90.
Abilities & Skills
Six Eyes
The Six Eyes provide exceptionally precise cursed energy perception and control 30 152.
- Track fast-moving opponents and detect concealed attacks or unusual cursed energy 91 115 117.
- Support highly efficient energy use, allowing Gojo to remain dangerous even while depleted 106.
- In his four-eyed form, provide a near-omnidirectional view during combat 133.
- Enable minute brain alterations and the near-original reproduction of techniques accessed through Mahoraga 121 136.
- Identify sorcerers and curse users more reliably than Xuan’s magnetic-field method 155.
Limitless
Gojo uses Limitless for defense, movement, attraction, repulsion, and destructive combined attacks 91 95 125.
| Application | Function and documented uses |
|---|---|
| Inviolability | Makes objects approach him endlessly without reaching him. Can be bypassed by suitable amplification, adaptation, or overwhelming attacks 96 97 125 127. |
| Blue | Produces attraction; enhances punches, accelerates movement, enables short-range teleportation, and pulls weapons away from opponents 91 107 116 130. |
| Red | Produces repulsion; used for ranged attacks, defensive bursts, and acceleration 92 122 128. |
| Hollow Purple | Combines Blue and Red into a destructive Hollow Technique. Gojo uses it at range, through his fists, and in sustained maximum-output attacks 91 129 136 137. |
| Maximum Technique: Azure | Compresses Blue’s attraction into a black point capable of shredding an adapted shikigami 117. |
| Maximum Blue and Red | Restrain and pull apart Gen before a maximum-powered Hollow Purple 136. |
| Reverse Inviolability | Infinitely contracts the distance to a target, eliminating Hollow Purple’s travel interval 134. |
- Red Fist is an advanced close-combat technique requiring mastery of external Reverse Cursed Technique output, not merely healing energy placed around a fist 92.
- Purple Fist releases Hollow Purple through a physical strike 129 136.
- Large Purple attacks can also endanger Gojo; he spends energy defending against his own blast and is later pierced through the shoulder by another discharge 105 147.
Domain Expansion and Barrier Techniques
Gojo’s domain is called Infinite Void, also rendered Unlimited Void. Its informational effect can fill an opponent’s mind with useless information 90 133 136.
- Shrinks and moves his closed barrier along irregular paths to evade attacks from Xuan’s surrounding open domain 92.
- Develops an open-barrier version whose altered sure-hit effects use Blue and Red 97.
- Combines his domain with Sukuna’s into a new domain featuring azure and crimson slashes around a black shrine 126.
- Independently deploys Malevolent Shrine after acquiring Sukuna’s technique 134.
- Reproduces Self-Embodiment of Perfection with Sukuna and Mahoraga’s prior experience of Mahito’s domain 137.
Limit: His first open-barrier Infinite Void drains most of his cursed energy within ten seconds. Mahoraga’s later improvements to his energy circulation still do not make the open-barrier offensive domain cost-free 105 136.
Reverse Cursed Technique
Gojo regenerates severe injuries, including destroyed limbs and extensive damage to his body 92 94 121.
- Repairs his brain to restore a burned-out cursed technique after domain collapse 94 95.
- Avoids repeatedly using that method during a spar; he estimates that he could perform approximately seven repairs in a lethal battle 96.
- Later combines Reverse Cursed Technique with Idle Transfiguration to survive the loss of his arms and chest 143.
Close Combat and Black Flash
Gojo combines martial exchanges with Blue’s attraction, Red’s acceleration, and Hollow Technique strikes 91 122 129.
- Lands simultaneous Black Flashes with Xuan during their spar 92.
- Uses Black Flash’s heightened state to advance his understanding of techniques and barriers 97 121.
- With four arms and the true Six Eyes, exchanges more than ten thousand blows with Gen in three seconds 139.
- Also fights with swords, using multiple hands to block, draw, and counterattack 126 128.
Sukuna Incarnation and Ten Shadows
Sharing a body with Sukuna gives Gojo additional limbs, mouths, energy, and techniques 125 136.
- Multiple mouths divide chants between Gojo, Sukuna, and Little Mo, reducing a Hollow Purple sequence to approximately 0.2 seconds 136.
- Combines Limitless, Malevolent Shrine, and Ten Shadows into three defensive layers: endless approach, intercepting slashes, and shadow storage 125.
- Uses Blue-enhanced Dismantle and Red-enhanced Cleave 127 135.
- Summons multiple Mahoragas and accesses synchronized adaptations 133 137.
- Draws on Mahoraga’s adapted techniques, including Blood Manipulation, Projection Sorcery, Tiger Funeral, and Piercing Ox 133 136.
Expansion Cursed Techniques
Gojo recognizes that Gen’s spatial rift results from extending a technique’s effect onto space itself 144.
- Applies the principle to Blue and Red while Sukuna supplies cursed energy 144 146.
- Works with Sukuna to construct a space-targeting Furnace: Open 147.
- Chains Furnace, Blue, and Hollow Purple into repeated spatial explosions, then sustains Maximum Technique: Hollow Purple to restrain Gen 147 148.
Teaching
- Teaches Yuji cursed energy control through exercises involving a doll and horror films 80.
- Helps train the alternate-world Yuji alongside Sukuna; after a month of intensive training, Yuji reaches Special Grade-level strength 137.
- Relies heavily on intuition: his written lesson plan consists only of “Improvise freely.” Xuan considers this unsuitable for students who lack Gojo’s natural control and Six Eyes 152.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Blindfold — Regularly worn, then discarded before serious combat 91 105.
- Phone — Used for photographs, social media, and online arguments 105 107 110 112.
- Kamutoke and Hiten — Wielded in the partially fused Sukuna form while sustained by Takaba’s technique. Hiten is broken by Xuan; the weapons disappear when Takaba’s technique ends 125.
- Sword of Extermination — Used as a longsword, with another transformed into a scabbard. Its lingering reverse energy interferes with regeneration 126.
Relationships
- Yuji Itadori — Student. Gojo entrusts his protection to Yuta and later helps train him. Witnesses the white-clad Yuji’s restoration of the city and departure 30 137 151.
- Yuta Okkotsu — Student who praises Gojo’s strength but criticizes his teaching. Gojo confronts Kenjaku after seeing her injured 31 90 105.
- Megumi Fushiguro — Student. Gojo anticipates the Zenin Clan targeting him; Kenjaku later uses marks inside Megumi and Yuta as leverage against him 90 106.
- Xuan — Rival and companion. Their first meeting becomes an intense spar, followed by cooperation, teasing, and shared activities at the training base 90 97 106 112.
- Zenin Xuan / Gen — Alternate-world adversary whose repeated transformations force Gojo to continually develop new attacks 113 128 136 144 147.
- Ryomen Sukuna — Antagonistic sparring partner and eventual battlefield ally. Exchanges techniques through soul-swapping practice and later shares Gojo’s body 111 113 121 125.
- Suguru Geto — Former friend. Kenjaku invokes possession of his corpse to pressure Gojo; Gojo later uses a false vision of Geto to say a proper goodbye 106 133.
- Kenjaku — Enemy who manipulates Gojo’s experiences inside the Prison Realm and threatens his students to secure a postponement 89 106.
- Little Mo / Little Demon — Gen’s Mahoraga, who offers Gojo and Sukuna a plan against her master and shares adaptations with their shikigami 131 132 133.
- Ryu Ishigori — Training-base companion with whom Gojo shares sweets and jokes over social media 112.
