Background

Wang Chen was born with only half a rank of innate soul power and possessed twin martial souls: a damaged-looking Pill Furnace and Meridians. After his parents died, he lived in Imperial Soul Village using the medicinal field, medical knowledge, and charcoal-making methods they had left behind. Tang San later stripped the field of its herbs, giving Wang Chen a lasting grudge against him. 1 3

At Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy, Yu Xiaogang urged Wang Chen to take a ten-year Lone Bamboo ring. Wang Chen rejected the advice as incompatible with his metal-and-fire Pill Furnace and exposed weaknesses in Yu Xiaogang's theories. He subsequently deceived Yu Xiaogang into surrendering the Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges storage soul tool. 1 2

After consuming Hundred-Year Whale Glue, Wang Chen awakened Dream God within his mind. Dream God's attempted possession failed when Wang Chen's Divine Spark Seed absorbed him, leaving Wang Chen with Dream God's divine core and surviving divine-armor fragment. Wang Chen thereafter used Dream God as both a source of power and a convenient public identity. 4

He acquired the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone from A Yin's hidden legacy, entered and exploited the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye, and used its immortal herbs to transform both his body and martial souls. 7 14 18

Appearance

Wang Chen initially manifests his Pill Furnace Martial Soul as a palm-sized, bronze furnace with a sun pattern, verdigris, holes in its shell, and a weak internal flame. 1
