Yu Xiaogang was born the young master of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the son of clan leader Yu Yuanzhen. He was initially treated as a prodigy, but his awakening of Luo Sanpao and innate Rank 0.5 soul power turned him into an object of derision within the clan. He later spent more than a decade facing scorn, traveled abroad, and eventually settled into teaching at Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy. 25

He presents himself as a leading martial soul theorist and claims credit for the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls. However, Wang Chen later presents records indicating that major portions of these theories—including mimetic cultivation theory and soul-power accumulation beyond bottlenecks—had appeared in ancient sources long before Yu Xiaogang published them. 1 37

Conflict with Wang Chen

Yu Xiaogang advises Wang Chen to absorb a ten-year Lone Bamboo soul ring for jumping and escape ability, revealing little concern for Wang Chen's long-term development. When challenged, he attempts to obtain Wang Chen's rapid-cultivation secret by offering only help hunting another ten-year ring. 1 2

Wang Chen exploits Yu Xiaogang's eagerness, exchanging a real but personally tailored method for the Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges. Yu Xiaogang is warned that the method may not suit others, but remains intent on researching it. 2

Luo Sanpao Incident

Angered by Wang Chen's disregard, Yu Xiaogang summons Luo Sanpao to attack him. The soul skill reverses and hits Yu Xiaogang and Tang San with overpowering stench twice, humiliating them before students. 22 23

Yu Xiaogang blames Wang Chen, but the academy dean rebukes him and the students turn against him. He lashes Luo Sanpao and cannot summon it again after it faints and returns to his body. 24 25

Sunflower Manual and Pig Farm Cultivation

Wang Chen plants a Nightmare Seed in Yu Xiaogang's mind and makes him experience repeated dream lives centered on failure, humiliation, and the Sunflower Manual. Believing the technique can overcome his innate limitation, Yu Xiaogang self-castrates after awakening from the dream cycle and begins cultivating it. 25 26
