Tang San is presented as the child of Tang Hao and A Yin, the Blue Silver Emperor. During the conflict surrounding A Yin's sacrifice, he is described as a newborn human–soul beast hybrid who remained unharmed despite attacks striking him; Wang Chen attributes this protection to a strand of Shura God's power within Tang Hao's Slaughter Domain 8 9.

Wang Chen later tells A Yin that her biological child died at birth and that Tang San's body is occupied by another soul.
