Luo Sanpao is Yu Xiaogang's martial soul, awakened in Yu Xiaogang's repeated dream-life as the same martial soul that led to his humiliation in the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect 26. Wang Chen identifies Luo Sanpao's true nature as a “perfectly good juvenile Light Holy Dragon” that Yu Xiaogang ruined by giving it pig-type soul rings and feeding it radishes to strengthen its fart attacks 22.

At Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy, Yu Xiaogang summons Luo Sanpao to attack Wang Chen after becoming enraged by Wang Chen's disregard for him 22. Wang Chen uses the Dream God head soul bone's mental power to redirect Luo Sanpao at the instant of release, causing its fart attack to blast Yu Xiaogang and Tang San instead 22. A second attempt also backfires, leaving Yu Xiaogang and Tang San humiliated and covered in a lingering stench 23 24.

Luo Sanpao behaves more like a living creature than a simple combat tool. When summoned, it circles Yu Xiaogang and tries to curry favor like a dog 22. It also shows fear, pain, and self-preservation: it trembles before the pigs at the farm, hides behind Yu Xiaogang, and later pleads when it realizes Yu Xiaogang is considering castration 30.

Despite this, Wang Chen notes that Luo Sanpao lacks enough awareness to resist Yu Xiaogang's treatment. Wang Chen remarks that if Luo Sanpao truly had awareness, the juvenile Light Holy Dragon would have killed Yu Xiaogang with one fart for how it had been raised 22.
